Perfect hotel for a group trip to the Somme - minutes away from all the major sites. Rooms are en-suite, warm and practical. Recent refurbishment of bathrooms & dining hall are a great upgrade. Staff are always friendly, helpful and patient. 100% would recommend.

This hotel isn’t even habitable. Vile. Disgusting. Broken windows, dirty sheets, ripped paint, broken toilets, mould IN THE ROOF and scattered across the room. Rooms are the size of storage cabinets. How they’re supposed to fit 5 people in I don’t know. Holes in the cabinets, it was generally disgusting and dirty. Freezing at night. Radiator is broken and floor is colder than the Siberian tundra. You have to make your own sheets and they give you a plastic bag with a dirty case and duvet. I didn’t even open it from how gross it was, I slept on the floor because the mattress is made of plastic and is so unhygienic. Many other people staying there complained of rashes and the person I was staying with couldn’t breathe properly. It was so gross, people can unlock your door from the outside and the water is also not clean. If you’re going here in the future, good luck - you’ll need it. 🫡

I went for a school trip (battlefields) with Wheatley Park School, and i need to be honest it wasn't the worst but not perfect. The beds were comfortable and i didn't see any stains on my duvet cover etc. so that's good. I slept very well on the night i was here, and I didn't mind making my bed. I really enjoyed the games room and the fact there was one on each floor. The breakfast was nice and simple and very nice. I only have a few things to criticise. The most important one i would say is the bug bites and mould?? Now this didn't happen to me, this happened to my friends in room 109. They all said they got bites and that they had mold that was They were saying to me that it was up the windows and on some of the pillows, i'm not sure though? So I would suggest (even though you probably already do this) you go through every room in every corner just to make sure. Also the lady that owned the Hostel was very nice! Thank you for having us!

We stayed here for one night as part of our Battlefields trip. We took 31 students in KS4. The food was great, accommodation comfortable and the bathrooms brand new! We were the first school group to use these new bathrooms and they were lovely! Our stay was great and the kids had a games room to entertain them in the evening. Staff were super friendly. Would definitely recommend for school groups!

guys literally run the corridor looks like you're in squid games and it's musty it looks like it's timetraveled 50 years in the past it's so odd it's a complete maze and smells like bo the rooms are freaking gross, you have to make your own dew dew stained beds but like don't even bother making them or even trying to sleep jsut sleep on your bus it's not worth it the bathrooms are small as rizz and literally just have a shower and a toilet and then the mirrors and sinks are just in with the beds? yay ok so basically run while you can

Lovely hostel, perfect for school trips. Students are safe and comfortable. The games room is a definite plus, students have a bit of freedom and fun. First time take away dinner was a success too! Looking forward to seeing what the updates to the bathrooms will look like next year

Clean rooms linen and comfortable bed. Breakfast delicious as well, croissants always fresh. Excellent hospitality. The students has plenty to do in both games rooms which were popular. Smooth, seamless check in and checkout. Recommend this accommodation for touring school groups particularly.

I want to come out here and really give an honest review. I went on the battlefields trip with my school and this is the hotel i stayed in. At first impressions, it doesn’t look a very pleasant or inviting place, but as soon as you get through the doors, you are greeted with a lovely manageress, who knew quite a lot of english. We had an initiation meeting, going over a few of the house rules, also finding out we had to make our own beds, before receiving our room keys. We went up, in our case, to the second floor. Our room was all the at at the end of the corridor, which felt like a marathon but soon became bearable. Anyway, not expecting much, we entered our room and took it all in. For a budget friendly trip, it was probably on par or slightly worse to what i was expecting. The room was probably best suited for around 2-3 people at max, but squashing 5 teenage boys into it got a bit much at times. We also established that our shower and toilet room ( which was genuinely the size of an under stairs cupboard) was absolutely crawling in black mould. We all made our beds, and the covers had holes at the seems which caused for an uncomfortable night, enhanced by the lumpy pillow which i didn’t use because it was not at all a pleasurable experience. Also, i belive everyone had trouble with the lighting, but when you work it out, my best advice is to leave it on and turn it off at the master switch near the door. The breakfast was advertised as continental, unfortunately it was just cereal, packaged pastries, yoghurt, fruit and juice. A bit of a let down to say we were in france, but we all managed. The games room was really underwhelming, a very cramped and bleak area, with a darts board (which you had to buy your own, from the vending machine for 10 euros) a pool table which you had to pay for, a foosball table which you also had to pay for, a giant connect 4 and table tennis (both free) it passed some time but i usually spent most my time in my phone in the room or with friends. Also, the plugs were far from the beds and most chargers did fit. I wouldn’t stay again and i wouldn’t rave about the place, it’s nicely situated in the town of Albert, only a five minute walk from the centre and an amazing bakery, but i’ve seen better budget options just from googling when i returned home. I wouldn’t say avoid at all costs, i’d really recommend you reevaluate your choice and look somewhere else.

Firstly they handed us bedding and told us to make it ourselves. The reviews that people leave are a bit over exaggerating the whole thing because the only bad thing I found was a nonce looking at me from across the road. (I was scared) PS don't lift the toilet seat it will explode and you will be blown back into the shower
