The room was not as it appeared in the photos, otherwise the hotel was great, an unbeatable location and clean facilities

I wanted to do a review as before we left I was extremely nervous reading some of the negative ones on here. So we went for 10 night family holiday. 2 adult and 3 kids (16, 10 & 6) We arrived at 1am, checked in with security & a mini van brought us to our apartment. I was pleasantly surprised by our apartment. It was 2 bed, 1 bathroom 1 ensuite (but the same size as bathroom) apartment with loads if space. I couldn't believe the space! Fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster,coffee machine, fridge and separate freezer. There was also a washing machine & dryer. Plenty of towels and hair dryer in one of the bathrooms. Aircon in bedrooms and living room. Good size comfortable couch/ sofa bed. T.v in living room and bedroom. An extendable kitchen table & 6 chairs. Garden terrace with garden furniture. The resort itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean. It is very big with a good few hills. We didn't mind this but something to bare in mind if you struggle with hills, are in a wheelchair or need extra walking assistance. There was a few creepy crawlies/ spiders/ ants but this didn't bother me. It's a garden village not a 5* hotel complex. There was no building work being carried out when we were there. The area was so peaceful and quiet. Even a night time. There are 4 pools over the resort in different areas. Each area is spotlessly clean and have a snack bar/ restaurant. We spent most of our days at La Pergola poolarea as the kids just preferred it here. There was always a few sunbeds available. Food was lovely, staff we just so nice & friendly, cocktails were good too! Our first morning we had breakfast at Casa Azul. Food & service was excellent and the view was beautiful. We had dinner on two night in O Pavilhão. The food here was exceptional!!! Could not fault one thing. And the staff were amazing, so friendly. I genuinely could not recommend this place enough! Mini market was handy. A bit pricey but had all the essentials. We went to Pingo Doce supermarket about 10min walk from the resort to do a big shop when we arrived. There was a fruit stall along the way and the peaches here with amazing!!! Staff at reception were always very friendly and helpful. We got a local taxi to the Old Town most days, which cost 5e as we needed a 5/6 seater for us all. We got it to taxi rank 1, it was just a 2 min walk from the main square. I tried Uber one two occasions and it was just a disaster so I stuck with the local service and they were friendly, quick and efficient. Never let us down! When we were leaving we got a taxi from taxi rank 2 a few nights and this cost 6e. The weather was amazing while we were here also. Temperatures ranging from 26°- 31°. My only criticism would be the level of cleaning done in the apartment before we arrived. There were a few stains on the counter tops, fridge & freezer doors, inside the fridge. Hotel is lovely when you walk in the door but the rest of the hotel is dated. In need of a total revamp. Room is clean, and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a dishwasher and all utensils but no condiments. A lot of noise from crowds of men banging on doors late at night and loud voices. There is a total of 5 plugs in the room, only one that worked and this was the one for the kettle the rest was hidden by furniture and likely the reason they are hidden they don’t work, so was a nightmare if you needed electric for any more than 1 plug. With a teenager it was torture. We were half board but food wasn’t great, selection was poor of 4 hot choices. Meatballs, chicken legs, pasta with sauce separate and a cod pie. Tried the restaurant twice and was the same options both times. So don’t waste your money on half board. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Clay oven which is Indian before you get to the ***** and Golden garden Chinese at the bottom of the *****. Both meals were fantastic. Pool has lots of sun loungers but pool was freezing, there is a shed with a vending machine as the bar. We tried the indoor pool which was pleasant as it is slightly warmer, but you are made to wear a shower cap that they supply costing 4 euros, don’t understand why as it isn’t waterproof and the hat supplied is far from flattering. ***** is 5 mins away and old town is a 25 min walk both pleasant walks. We made the best of our holiday and used the hotel as a base, I’ve been to Albuferia 6 times now and will come back but to a different hotel

I was a bit worried about staying because of the reviews but my husband and I are just back from a great week at Hotel Baltum. Yes the room was small, but it was cleaned every day and fresh towels, had enough room for the pair of us to get ready in and a fantastic shower. We were on the third floor, couldn't hear any noise from outside when the patio doors were shut and the air con was great. The staff were fantastic, the roof terrace is brilliant and the bar staff working couldn't do enough to help. There is some noise in the hotel but it probably echoes up the stairs, something you can't stop as it's tilled and marbled. It's in the centre of the old town, 2 minutes from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Right near the taxi rank too.

Great room great breakfast great stay. We had a lovely stay for our 10 year anniversary at the hotel. The hotel had left us a bottle and a card for our special occasion which was a nice touch. The room was very large and room and hotel throughout were beautifully decorated. The jacuzzi was not working and the squash court was leaking (not that we intended to play squash) just an observation. We loved the breakfast and felt there was plenty of choice just needed another coffee machine as the queue does get very long. We can’t comment on lunch or dinner as we spent all of our days out exploring and finding the back streets of Albufeira for some amazing seafood and traditional Portuguese cuisine. We were only there for a long weekend. The staff were all nice and the only criticism’s of the hotel would be the charge for using the safe in the room. Anything to make an extra buck… I have not had to pay to use a room safe ever before so that was a new one on me! Also the shuttle bus that was broken was out for 2 days and they didn’t think to put on another option so we had to use Uber instead, which were cheaper than the taxis that the front desk would call.

We arrived at the hotel early, couldn't checkin so left our bags in their storage room. First impression is clean. When you walk into reception it looks a little out dated. The pool tables, air hockey and tv are located in a room next to the bar & restaurant on level -1. Next to the bar and & restaurant is the outdoor pool area. Also ok level -1 you have room numbers 1-4 I believe On Level 0 is more rooms and hairdressers and reception. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. We had a kitchen area with kettle, toaster, hobx2 and a microwave. WiFi was terrible in the rooms. The doubleroom was 2 single beds. They were fine. In the bathroom make sure you read the notices regarding the charges to the bathroom toilets and that.

We came here 6 years ago and were looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. We checked in and the toilet in our room was broken. It kept running and consequently the tank refilling. We called reception who sent maintenance up quickly. They ”fixed” it but it still wasn't right and then wouldn't flush fully. We asked to swap rooms which they allowed us to do. As a whole the rooms haven't changed in 6 years which was the problem. They're now looking very dated and worn in need of maintenance. The shower was annoying as it constantly moved from right to left whilst on and at the same time down the shower pole. Meaning you had to hold it with one hand whilst trying to wash with the other. The shower screen also leaked so by the time you've managed to have a shower which took twice as long the floor was soaked. I found myself having to mop it up so that we didn't slip. The toilet seat was also broken on one side so it would slip off. All minor things which add up and could be easily fixed. You also have to pay for the safe which seems a bit crazy. We'd come from two previous hotels on the same trip and not once had to pay for the safe and they weren't 4 star hotels like this one. The pool was nice and pool towels are available. Breakfast was good, you have to select a time slot, I guess due to covid. Be warned you can't use the indoor pool unless you bring or buy a swimming hat. The spa area also looked nice. The air con in the rooms worked well and the beds were comfortable, it's frustrating as this hotel could be really nice but lots of little things let it down, all easily resolved with some TLC but all which make it not worth the money paid.

Hi another great stay at the aqua Pedro. Food lovely big choice for breakfast staff very nice and helpful. From the cleaners to reception staff all great. Will be back have stayed here 3 times now and never dissapointed. So central but also quiet. Thank you was great holiday. 👍😎

Beautiful and well maintained grounds. The facilities provided in the accommodations were very good, fridge, freezer, dish washer, cooker and microwave. The kitchen was in good condition and looked fairly new. However, sofa and other fittings looked worn and tired. The Accommodation is within a stone's through to the beach. Approximately 10 and 15 minutes stroll to the beach As we were slightly outside summer season. Only Bed & Breakfast option was provided. We found the range of food provided for Breakfast was to a good standard. Restaurant Staff were helpful and polite. The reception staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful in giving us advice on things do and places to visit in Portugal.
