Dalewood Inn

My guess is that this is an older facility that has been remodeled. The bathroom and shower were all new and the carpet appeared to be new as well and the room was very clean. The room had a full size refrigerator, a microwave oven, a coffee maker and a large screen tv and a comfortable queen size bed. All that made it seem a bit cramped, but who cares if your main goal is sleeping. The staff members were very nice and helpful. A drawback is that the front desk was not staffed during about noon and 3pm, probably because they were helping to clean rooms, but if you see one of them they are helpful. There is a small cafe in the building with limited hours (it was closed between 2pm and 4pm. The food seemed mostly good pizza and large sandwiches with 2 kinds of beer. There is a brewery and other cafes if you don't mind walking downhill a couple blocks and coming back up later. Overall, a nice quiet clean motel with large parking.

I realize there isn't much choice in Port McNeill in terms of lodging but I was hoping that since Dalewood Inn's website said it had been newly renovated that it would be nicer than the average motel in the area. However Dalewood Inn quite disappointed. When you go to your room in the Dalewood Inn you feel like you are back in a college dorm. The hallways have floor fans running to apparently keep it dry. The room itself was pretty small. The bathroom sink had a chip in it and the overall feel of the place was definitely not newly renovated. At least the beds were comfortable and the linens were clean and newer feeling. 🛏️ The worst part of our stay was how noisy the motel was. Because the walls are apparently thin you can hear all the conversations in the hallways which again evoked images of a college dorm except this time I didn't feel like going out into the hallway and socialize. Whenever a door slammed shut anywhere in the hallway it would seem as though your door was slammed. It took me forever to finally fall asleep. Service was friendly and polite though less available than what one would get in a typical hotel. At least it wasn't too expensive but for $150 per night I was hoping for at least a good night's sleep. 😴

Affordable, available, and very clean when we need it the most! I was leading a family and friends see Kayaking Expedition to the Broughton and Archipelago, when I was hit with a heavy dose of norovirus - this was during a busy Labor Day weekend, and needless to say, my wife, and I needed to bow out as guides, pass the baton, and find a place to wait for our group to return. Telegraph Cove Resort, the place that we have spent lots of money over the last two decades, were unusually rude and their staff beat and switched us into a different property, and we purchased, so we decided to head a bit further north Port McNeil! Taking a chance, here at the Dalewood, we found them less than half the cost, and floor cleaner, and much more accommodating than anything we have ever encountered in Telegraph! Front staff was incredibly courteous, the rooms were very well kept and clean, and the accommodations were bright, and easy to access. Perfect for a holdover wait in a beautiful town! From now on, we will be bringing our groups and recommending Port McNeill as a base camp, and this hotel will definitely be on our list!

Bed was very comfortable and the room had everything it needed. Looks like they are doing some renovations but that didn't disturb us. Was very clean and felt welcoming. Enjoyed the amenities nearby

Our stay at the Dalewood was very enjoyable. I had asked for an early checkin and they went out of their way to provide more than I had requested. When I said we were riding bikes she changed my room so we could keep an eye on them. The room was spotless and well maintained. It was roomy enough for two people to move around without any difficulty. Coffee maker and fridge made were a bonus. The motel is close to the harbour, restaurants, and a coffee shop which has an incredible breakfast. We will certainly be returning here again this summer.

Lacey at the Front Desk was wonderful - friendly and efficient. Rooms are brand new - very clean, amazing views of the harbor and sunset. Convenient liquor store on property. Close to everything. If you go to Port McNeill - stay here! Ignore the outdated and rather unattractive yellow sign! Hopefully the owners will get a new sign soon to reflect all the work they have done inside.
