Very disappointing experience for a 5-star hotel
Our stay at Rixos Alexandria was extremely disappointing and absolutely not what you would expect from a 5-star resort. Upon check-in, the air conditioner in our room was broken, and the temperature stayed at 17°C the entire time. It was freezing and very uncomfortable.
On top of that, the shower drain was broken, so the bathroom floor was constantly wet and slippery.
When we reported these issues, the hotel sent an engineer to fix the air conditioner - without considering that we were in the room after showering and not dressed. After one and a half unsuccessful attempts to repair it, we were finally offered to move to another room.
Unfortunately, the new room was completely unprepared: no towels, no bathrobes, no bottled water, no toothbrushes — nothing. We had to call and wait for over an hour to receive these basic amenities, and even then, bathrobes never arrived at all.
Overall, this experience was unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. The management needs to seriously improve both the maintenance of rooms and the level of service.
