For the fourth time we stayed at the level Meliá Alicante. Its location makes it superior over other hotels in town. Service at the Level lounge was excellent. Morning breakfast; we were welcomed with friendly staff where wide spread of cold and hot items in addition to the natural fresh squeezed orange juice were offered. The lounge was not crowded as we expected and there were enough free tables and chairs throughout the day. Evening tapas dishes were good and nicely presented. We attended the Christmas Eve’s celebration and it was really well organised. In particular, I would like to highlight the excellent well-prepared X’mas Eve’s dinner. We enjoyed very much all the dishes and especially the traditional Spanish lamb shoulder, which was mouth melting of an excellent lamb meat quality which I thought it was a “Lechato” type; tender juicy lamb that taste like turkey/lamb meat, we loved it. The New year Gala was also a fantastic Spanish celebration that painted a magical feelings of joy on us. We thank very much the chef who organised the dinner of both events for his excellent work. The hotel has a bar located close to the front door, nice place but offer limited taps. We dined once at the hotel’s main restaurant Trasluz. We ordered “ Arroz del Senyoret” and was unfortunately below our expectations, namely, the rice was not cooked properly and seafood items were chewy rubber-like in texture, probably over cooked and perhaps not fresh. On other occasion, we ordered spaghetti bolognaise and was not tasty and missing Oregano and other Italian spices. Alicante is a nice place and there is always something to see in town and by the way, most exhibitions (art and other) were free to enter. Park Palmeral is nice to spend sunny day there and it is not very far, about 45 minutes walk from the city. The botanic/palm garden Heurto del Cura located in Elche town is another interesting place to visit. We enjoyed very much our trip to Alicante and we wish to thank staff of the Level at Melia Alicante for their warm hospitality. Special thanks for the Lounge management; Señor Dani and others for their friendly assistance. Big thanks to the two señoras who prepared the mornings egg-dishes every day and certainly not to forget Señoras who kept our suite clean every day and thanks for the present we received upon our departure. We will certainly visit you whenever we come to Alicante!

Melia Alicante offers two room view options, Sea view and Marina View. We booked a Premium Sea View, which was excellent. Let me say at the outset that we are Melia Reward Members, and book directly with Melia. It's important to become a member and then obtain all the benefits that are available based on your membership grade. It is also important to have access to the LEVEL which provides a seperate breakfast area and a relaxing atmosphere during the day and evening. Flight booked seperately. The Reception check in was smooth and efficient, our rooma Premium Sea View was on the 4th floor overlooking the sea and beach and very comfortable. As usual at all Melia Hotels, the housekeeping was first class, thank you to all the staff who somehow always get the room looking as new every day. This was our first visit to Melia Alicante, and we were immediately feeling very comfortable. The Guest Experience Manager Francesco and his team gave us outstanding service . In particular Daniel (Obsessed with his hair) Andrea (Bubbly and very enthusiastic) and of course Inma ( Always so very attentive to your needs) in fact they all carried Francesco's mantra of Attention To Detail. Also in his team are all the LEVEL Staff Alexandra on reception was lovely, as were all the LEVEL Reception Staff and at breafast we were always looked after in the main by Gloria, Roccia and David ( who always made my morning coffee for me when on duty) So absolutely top marks for everyone in the LEVEL. We were at the Hotel for thirteen nights, and did not expect to be receiving a la carte dinner service with an excellent menu choice, this was a real bonus and Sara who looked after us was excellent, in the TRASLUZ Restaurant. Now you don't often at any Hotel meet with the Hotel Director, but on this occasion it was a Lady called Paloma who we were introduced to and she was charming and keen to be a visible presence, which was refreshing. As we were there for Christmas, there was a Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve, which I can only describe as Outstanding in every way. Inma was on meet and greet and did us proud by providing us a table by the window with some friends we had met at Melia Costa Del Sol. The Table presentation, the food the wine, and the service was incredible. So much hard work to achieve this and I did notice the Hotel Director went round to every single table to say hello. There were 210 people at the dinner. Finally, at the beginning of our stay Francesco was instrumental in introducing all lhis team to us,and he clearly loves what he does and is good at doing it, and it's quite clear that they are a great team and this is replicated throughout the Hotel. We did not know what to expect, but Melia Alicante exceeded our expectations. We will return. Many thanks and best wishes for 2025 Joan and Alan Otto

We stayed in a Seaview room, which was great for sitting on the balcony, with coffee, and enjoying the sunrise. The room was a good size, very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable, and the bath and shower were great. The level lounge was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There is a fabulous view of the beach. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The drinks and tapas were very good and plentiful. The hotel is in a great location for going into town and exploring the area. We will definitely be back.

Stayed as a couple for 5 nights having booked' The Level' accommodation Our room was actually on the 5th floor and the Level is on the first floor. It seems strange where it's situated at the end of a fairly dark corridor of rooms, it feels like it's in the wrong place for something so nice. The Level itself is immaculately clean with friendly staff and access not only to breakfast but drinks throughout the day and tapas at lunchtime and the evening. The sunbeds however are way too crammed in , you are uncomfortably close to other people with very little space to move around or feel any sense of personal space. I think the main pool area is actually the better space, it feels as though they should be switched round . The pool is small and personally I never saw it being cleaned but am sure it is. Public spaces were immaculate and to a high standard The room itself was immaculate with a fantastic bed , pillows and bathroom. Storage was limited but we managed. The hotel is ideally placed right next to very clean beach and close to the many restaurants , bars and shops. I think the Level is a great idea and the inside space is great but not the outside space due to it being so tight. It's this aspect that would make me think twice about booking it again. Would definitely return to the hotel but not sure I would pay the extra for the Level.

The Level is a fabulous experience. The Hotel is great but the adults only Level concept is amazing. The service is brilliant and makes you feel very special. Nothing is too much trouble for the Team. We loved it and have another holiday with them in September.

Big fan of MELIA having stayed at a few & Level Alicante was great - food/drinks options were excellent & worth upgrading our room to have access to the extras. Only disappointment was the sun beds being so close to each other as not a large outdoor area. It is a great hotel and location is ideal for visiting Alicante

Good location for a few days in Spain. Central and ten minutes from the airport. Efficient check in and taken to the Red Level. Stayed for 4 nights. Despite being assured separate beds this initially didn’t happen. Had to chase this a few times. Booked a suite. Allocated room was a long way from the level. Nice pool but far too crowded. People laid like sardines and far too small. Good selection of drinks available. Hot snacks ran out constantly and were not replaced. Spoke to staff about this but they could not remedy this. Lovely comfortable area and less chaotic than main restaurant. Big issue was people taking glasses outside the pool area which is dangerous. Plastic ones are there but staff do not and will not enforce this. They said we try🤨. Certainly saw no one challenge this. Why not? Quite simple just provide plastic glasses then everyone adheres to the same rules. They really do need to look at Red Level Melia Costa Del Sol which have got this absolutely right and are head and shoulders above them in all areas.
