The hotel opened in 1988 and we first visited in the early 90’s. Probably about our 25th visit last week with two friends. Everything continues to be well maintained, refurbished excellently, spotlessly clean and of a standard rarely found. Rooms are spacious and we have one overlooking the Ria Formosa estuary (a wildlife sanctuary) and the sea. A terrace gets sun most of the day. Breakfast buffet has ever and can be taken inside or out. The pools are immaculate with an all day attendant. Dinner has a full menu with flexibility to our age related requests! The bar is pleasant and very well run. A big wine list with some lovely offerings. Staff in all areas are friendly efficient and attentive as well as many knowing us over many years. Transfers are efficient and a car can be delivered to avoid airport hassle. So, overall, where else could we go? Just a pity Faro airport taking so long to be efficient and bring in electronic passport stations! Waiting in long queues in your 80’s is tedious!!

Wonderful stay at Quinta de Lago. What sets it apart from most other resort style hotels is the level of service. Barbara the head breakfast stewardess is by far the best I have seen anywhere in the world. She greets everyone with a smile and goes out of her way to be as helpful and accommodating as possible. The facilities at the hotel are great with large outdoor pool and small indoor pool. The gym is adequate and spa has sauna and steam room. lt is only a short walk across boardwalk and bridge to stunning beach. Food at the restaurant is excellent and there are three fabulous golf courses. We only played the South Course which was very well maintained. Had lunch at restaurant club house before playing golf which was also excellent

Wow! What a fabulous hotel. It has so much to offer and deserves every acclaim. Beautiful rooms, beautiful surroundings near the beach and the nature reserve. Lagoons and dunes and birds. Plenty of golf too but that isn't for us. Eating or relaxing, inside or out was a spacious sunshaded pleasure. The bar area was elegant with complimentary generous nibbles, and fabulous views. The staff were so helpful, efficient, thoughtful and personable, throughout the hotel. They spoiled us on our anniversary with champagne and a fruit buffet. The hotel taxi that took us to a pre wedding reception was complimentary The evening meal menus were outstanding and breakfast a delight with so much choice. It is rare to find a 5* hotel that takes children but these children all seemed to have a 'mute' button turned on. Lots of poolside areas to choose from with everything provided and done for you. Definitely one to return to, but not across a school holiday!

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is fabulous, the rooms and restaurants are beautifully decorated and the quality of the bed and linen first class. However, it was the staff and level of service that made the hotel completely stand out. They were so lovely and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, it was an exceptional experience and I wanted to tell the world!!

This is a world leading hotel and our experience was a sheer delight from the booking process and arrival until our departure. The hotel is beautiful- every part of the interior decorated to a high standard with style. Pools and pool area is wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast staff excellent. View is magnificent and there are many walks along the coast to be had. We hired bikes and that was fun. I would return in a heartbeat and really look forward to going back again some day.

hotel and staff were superb, pleasant, helpful and welcoming. a great hotel in a magnificent location. all our needs were accommodated from golf to airport transfers including booking restaurants for our evening meal. beach facilities were also great.

Wonderful! The staff are a pleasure to deal with- nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are excellent. The hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We went as a family with two children in their 20’s. The decor is tasteful but not modern- thought the “0ff springs” may think it’s for more Mum and Dads age group(!) but they loved it and want to return recognising the service and great food.

This hotel was stunning! I could have stayed there another week. The staff was amazing at every turn. I have never felt more pampered. The rooms are large, beautiful, and clean. We were there for our anniversary and arrived to a beautiful display of fresh flowers, sparking wine and fruit. The bar on the 4th floor was my favorite the décor was magazine worthy, and I cannot say enough about the service we were lucky enough to be invited to the managers cocktail hour and we got to meet people from all over the world as well as chat with the manager and it was very obvious how proud they are of this amazing hotel. The pool area was immaculate and so comfortable, the breakfast….i can’t even being to say how delicious every single food item was. I’m looking forward to staying here again in the future to explore more.
