Park Dedeman Almaty

Stunning views (especially from the breakfast floor) and an overall nice and friendly place. Rooms are clean and staff is bice, and you also have access to a health club and spa. The breakfast buffet was amazing. You will need a taxi to get to the City center, though.

Although the hotel is relatively new, the building itself felt like an older hotel that had been renovated. There was a musty smell in the bathroom, possibly because there was no ventilation fan. For some reason, when I sat on the toilet, the lid would close and press against my back. The bathroom sink was also unusually high, and at 160 cm tall, I had to stand on tiptoe to reach it when washing my face. The lounge on the 9th floor had a great view, and on both days we used it, there were no other guests, so we were able to enjoy it comfortably. However, it seemed that only about half of the items listed on the menu were actually available. Overall, it was one of those hotels that made me think once again, “There must be a reason why it’s so affordable.”
