This might seem like its going to be a negative review that’s what we thought after the first 48 hours but then we learned how the hotel functions and our opinions changed. Firstly, the hotel would not be open this time of year if it was not for organised golf parties, and we estimated that over 90% of guests were there in that capacity. It’s not surprising therefore that the hotels priority guests are the golfers. We were one of the few people there just as a couple so we are not the ones making this place successful therefore not a priority. We discovered this on the first night at the restaurant, all the tables outside are taken by the golf parties and the tables inside are set for parties of 10. There were just four tables set for four and often three of those would have reserved for golfers only notices. The first two nights we asked staff were can we sit? He promptly removed one of the reserved signs and said sit there. After those first nights we just took it upon ourselves to remove “reserved for golfers” ourselves and take one of the tables. I did mention this to the reception who said they would tell the restaurant to keep us a table but nothing changed. Having two hundred golfers all dining at once makes it very noisy and when they all come up to get food from the buffet very crowded. At breakfast things are different but still prioritise golfers, because they are teeing off from 8.00 AM if you arrive about 8.45 most have left. The staff are already setting the tables for the evening meal and even though breakfast is served until 10.30 most mornings we had to set our own table. Do not arrive after 9.15 because they have stopped cooking fresh eggs and bacon what is left has been under the heat lamps for 20 minutes. So that is the end of the negatives once we accepted that without golfers the hotel would be shut like pretty much every other one was in Almerimar and we learned to work around them at meal times there was a lot of plus points. The rooms are very modern and spacious it had one of the best hotel showers I have come across. Try to get a room that over looks the gardens and swimming pool ours over looked the carpark the loading bay and the main road so was quite noisy but we hadn’t paid for an upgraded room so that was the low end of the cost scale. We had no hot water in our room on arrival but once reported it was fixed promptly. This time of year there is only entertainment on Friday and Saturday night but the singers on Saturday were excellent. The hotel has a 27-hole golf course with decent practice facilities. The town of Almerimar is very quiet in October which suited us but if you want more to do this would not be for you. Outside the hotel they bill themselves on the sign as five stars Jet 2 have it four star which I would agree with. In summary if you are coming here as part of a golf society, I think you will have a great time if coming as a couple be prepared to know you are not the priority but you can make it

We had a beautiful and very spacious room with a garden view. The photos on the website are accurate. Comfortable, large beds, plenty of closet space, a big balcony, and blackout blinds for a good night’s sleep. It felt luxurious. Breakfast was varied and fresh – fruit, different breads, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, croissants, and great coffee (Nespresso or from a pot). We looked forward to it every morning. The hotel is in a quiet area, not too touristy, with a charming little harbor and beach nearby. If you walk around the harbor, you’ll find authentic bars, restaurants, and small shops. There's also a small tourist train if you prefer not to walk. The garden and pool area are peaceful and beautifully maintained. It’s quieter during the week than on weekends. We also did a day trip by car through the Sierra Nevada and visited Motril and Granada. Highly recommend the 50-minute massage – very relaxing and professional.

We had a lovely stay and the hotel is nice and the staff very lovely. However it is not a five star hotel, it just lacks all the little extras that make a hotel five star. No coffie or tea making in room, no bathrobes, no makeup mirror, no complementary water ect. The breakfast was nice but I recommend going out for dinner. But all in all an enjoyable experience and very convenient for golfing.

We have stayed for a week to play golf. Despite the poor reviews, the hotel is very nice. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, the linen is good quality and the towels are fluffy. Most rooms have a balcony, which looks out towards the pool and golf course. Service is very ‘relaxed’, no need to register a credit card, or book in for breakfast, and the staff were friendly enough. Breakfast is basic, but fine for golfers, and we didn’t eat dinner in the hotel, so can’t comment on that. Housekeeping was efficient, the whole hotel is clean, and the communal areas are inviting. Wi-Fi is a bit patchy. There were lots of large golf groups (mainly Northern European) during our stay. The marina is a short walk, and there are lots of bars and restaurants. No fancy or expensive fare, but there are a couple of places worth going to for lunch and dinner. You just need to persevere. The golf club is literally a few steps away, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are 3 nine hole courses, red/white/blue. The courses were flat, so you can walk them quite comfortably, and interesting without being too difficult. The condition could be better, but I believe the weather is March was awful, and it was fine for us. There are mosquitoes! Particularly on the white course at hole 3. It’s a par 3, and we were held up for 20 minutes on one round, and got bitten to pieces. It may be seasonal, but bring your repellent. It can also be windy. Overall a good stay at a reasonable price. Would certainly recommend for a golf trip.

The hotel is good, big rooms and balcony. Good gleaning and the food was OK. Free towels at the pool. Before we arrived we asked if there was a kettle in the room, we was told no but you can get a kettle in the reception when yo arrive. We did ask when we arrived but the answer was no, No kettle ! We did ask for a Ice cube on the bar to take to our room. The answer was NO, you can only get Ice in a drink you buy! So this first time I can not get a free Ice when staying n a hotel. NOT a 5 star - service!

Very tired struggling 3 star, certainly nowhere near the claimed 4 star. Staff all very stressed and grumpy. Room ok and large terrace which was ok, but only actually got the sun for 30 mins a day (September) “Restaurant” is like a dodgy staff canteen with hot breakfast items cold unless you asked the grumpy chef for an omelette. Will agree with a previous review, the golf club food was very good for snacks. Golf course itself is not going to be hosting the Spanish open any time soon. Very scrappy and lots of unnecessary water. Once was enough, but as we had a deal that got us 2 rounds included, we have the joy of playing it twice. Again, pro shop and caddy masters were grumpy. It’s as if they have all be trained that way. Very strange.

Great location for golf and beach Great location for golf and beach. Ok breakfast and good dinner buffer. Nice premises except for restaurant which is very loud. Difficult to have a conversation during dinner.

Too boring dinner buffet and not a spa as definition. Thd sauna was 38 degree Celcius and thd Hammam cold and steamy. The sauna is soob to burn if the hotel is not renovating it. The wall is already black. The bed is great but hard to sleep as the voice insulation is non existing The restaurant is an echo room. Not albe to rnjoy the dinner as everybody is shoutind load.
