My husband I recently stayed at Old Church Farm for 3 nights. Our visit can be summed up as first class! From the excellent communication before arrival to the moment we arrived and beyond, Christopher (the proprietor) made sure we felt right at home. Whether it was recommendations on local eateries or a nightcap before bed, everything we needed was seemingly at our fingertips. The hospitality and personal touch was worth the visit alone. We were even given a complimentary ride into town the first night which was really helpful, Christopher even gave us a little tour of some of Thornbury’s notable attractions. Make sure you don’t skip out on breakfast; calling the food delicious doesn’t come close to doing it justice. To top it all off, the property was beautifully decorated, full of fascinating history, and well located for exploring Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. Thank you Christopher and your wife for a stay we will never forget!

Absolutely loved this luxury guest house! Full of history, clean and we didn’t have to ask for anything as it was already there! The breakfast was fantastic and Christopher the host is brilliant! Highly recommend and will definitely be staying again 👌👌❤️❤️

My wife and I, much travelled, recently enjoyed two stays at Old Church Farm, once for a few days and later for a week. We actually extended our second stay, owing to not desiring to move on. Imagine the fusion of a National Trust Property, a fine restaurant which provides breakfasts and the standards of a 5 star hotel delivered by the authenticity of a homely family run property. Place it in superb countryside really close to major arteries but not bothered by them and you have Old Church Farm Hotel. We so enjoyed our stay and did I mention the breakfast? Stay here but do not rush away in the morning and keep time to explore and relax in the public areas. You will not be disappointed. We sincerely hope to find the opportunity to return. I'll start with the positives: We traveled down for a family members wedding and stayed at this venue. The location is convenient, and the off-street parking with cameras is a nice touch. Now, the negatives… ( The 5 star reviews are not genuine! Not with the experience we had ) We arrived 10 minutes early, and the host let us in begrudgingly, saying the room "should be clean." We later found out he charged us extra for those 10 minutes. If I had known, I would have just waited in the car. The room was average at best—nothing special and definitely not clean. When we asked for dinner recommendations, the host made us feel guilty for not eating on-site. We ended up driving a couple of minutes up the road to The Ship Inn, which had excellent food and a nice atmosphere. There’s also a hotel there (wish we’d stayed there instead). Be aware that if you bring your own drinks, you'll be hit with an extra charge. Word of advice: don’t let them know, or another fee will be added. The breakfast was disappointing—definitely not fresh and of poor quality. The woman serving it also had an attitude, making the whole experience unpleasant. For some bizarre reason, the host seems to follow you around everywhere and it made me and my partner feel uncomfortable. The grounds themselves are lovely, and the location is good, but the rooms definitely need improvement. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price, and I won't be returning. From now on, if we have another reason to return to the area I’ll be staying elsewhere

Long weekend for our wedding anniversary We had a lovely stay for a long weekend for our big wedding anniversary. Very comfortable room and lovely breakfast every day. Only 13amp charger for the EV but that was absolutely no problem as there are plenty of public chargers available round and about and we just used one of those whilst we were out for an evening meal on our first night Fresh milk and bottled water available for ‘proper’ coffee in brew bags and wide selection of teas which was nice and so much better than long life cartons. We stayed in for an evening meal one night which was marvellous. A beautiful house and grounds that made for a wonderful weekend and Chris was very helpful and friendly throughout.

We loved it, breakfast was amazing. If you like history, comfort and quiet nights sleep then we would fully recommend staying. We read the previous reviews and we experienced the complete opposite, we hope to stay again in the future, the tai restaurant in Thornbury was excellent as well
