"really enjoyed it"

"Stayed 6 weeks.Roomy and family friendly rooms with double bed and a sofa and refrigerator. Big bathrooms. A big plus is that they tend to give pool level rooms to families with children. So easy to get in and out of the pool. The outside space was also roomy and with 2 sunshairs and big parasoll! Staff was friendly and keen to meet your needs or questions. The only negative part was: we put the don't disturb sign every night but every morning they would still open the door and come in, even if they saw us in bed half naked feeding the baby they walked in and started to mess in the wardrobe or other things. Screaming "NOO" to their knocks ment nothing. Starting to think the maids were paid by each room and not by schedule, why else the urge to force into rooms they cleaned just the other day? Last thing is the buffet....... Every source of proteine is abused to the limit that you can't tell if it's fish, chicken, pork, beef, other. No pepper, no spices, lots of deep fry. Could not get allergens right at all. Put Gluten on cooked potatoes and No Gluten on gluten pasta and "Pure rice" on shrimp rice. Last weeks I actually vomitided a little in a napkin each time we tried to eat there. So we went to restaurants outside. I think something has happened because only 1 year ago they had healthy and good food according to people in the area. Good luck, hope you will regain that status nd thank you for an otherwise nice stay! "

"Good hotel quality price "

"Just booked one night at this hotel and we were very pleased with the experience. Very well located near the center of Almunecar (bus station, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, etc..), walking distance also to the beach. We did a thorough search on the internet until we found a very good deal. Large lobby, clean and well kept in general. Very professional and polite receptionist who started by asking if  I would like to speak in english or spanish. Per our request, he eventually changed our room from the first floor to the sixth floor. We got a large twin room (like shown in the pictures), with a large bathroom, with a tub and a half glass for shower. Shower gel and shampoo was provided. There was a well kept balcony (tidy, with a table, two chairs and an ashtray) with a view to the city center and the sea (sideways). I call the attention to how tidy this balcony was, with the stainless steel handrails absolutely spotless, without stains (very unusual as balconies are normally overlooked). Room had a big desk and a very helpful mini refrigerator. TV  (maybe satellite) few channels in english and a somehow difficult remote to work with. One night stand between the two beds. Each twin bed was actually a small double in size. Two reading lights. They have a car park for 12€/day. Street parking is possible on the nearby streets (paid until 14h00),  but during Summer months or peak weekends it would almost be impossible to find a street place (better to use their car park). We didn't try breakfast, but there are many options nearby. Overall we were happy with our choice and can recommend this hotel based on our good experience. "

"As every year, a comfortable hotel. A BIG FAILURE: THE BATH LINEN (Towels) ARE AUTHENTIC SANDY TAPE. I don't think they have been changed since it opened. It is unfortunate for the price and the good location. Very friendly and helpful staff."

"A Fabulous Boutique Hotel it is so not a one star, at least a 3 star plus. Our room was great, had everything there, especially great aircon. , great views. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the owners Tony and Everlyn(?) were wonderful hosts. We stayed a week and had no problems parking in the street. Only downside is La Herradura is packed in summer, parking is impossible unless you pay $5 opposite the beach. So it is easier to take a short walk into town , however it is along the 340 highway. Overall very highly recommended."

"Very underrated I think, what a beautiful place and well maintained kept within it's authenticity. Food and drinks were lovely. Me and my partner both agreed it was well worth the upgrade for sea views from room which I will upload a photo off, we paid 13 euro a night and honestly the views were amazing.. I ve seen posts saying you have to pay for WiFi in rooms but we did not. Honestly would come back again might even bring the kids this time "

"Hotel is absolutely lovely drco is fabulous hotel is extremely clean and tidy. Amenities are questionable. We were unable to get a drink coffee water anything between 2-6pm as the bar was closed. Today the bar closed at 2pm and we were told to bring our own in. Breakfast is great . Maybe it is because we were out of season but not even a kettle in the room to make our own . "
