Ibersol Almuñecar Beach & Spa Hotel ★★★★
"The facilities are quite good, the pool is not very big but acceptable, the food is not bad but could be better and a little more variety, the rooms are very good and have good views, the bad thing was that I forgot to put it as non-smoking and it smelled strongly of tobacco, I did not try to change it because we really liked the views, the entertainment is not bad but it is a little or maybe too much designed for the French tourists of which there were many, that is why it must be, for the rest 3 days of relaxation..."
Hotel San Sebastian Almuñécar ★★
"From the outside this gem is deceiving but from the warm welcome to a beautiful room with lovely view to the sea. Communal areas are spotlessly clean everywhere smelt fresh lots of attention to little details. We have paid lots more for awful places this is a beautiful little hotel with amazing facilities. The bathroom was spacious and well stocked the towels soft and fluffy. I really can't find anything wrong with this hotel we will definitely be back."
Bahía Almuñecar ★★★★
"We were supposed to be in the sister hotel at the east end of the town so there is just a small rooftop pool, although the hotel is close to the beach. It is much more central close to the old town and facilities. The hotel was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was generally good although the fish and meat off the grill tended to be overcooked. The meat and fish in sauces was much better. Room was clean although there were roadworks nearby and it could be a bit dusty. Apparently we were better off being on the higher floor, 4th, we also benefited being above the rooftops opposite."
Sol Los Fenicios ★★★★
"Very pleasant hotel in a wonderful location, a lucky find at the last minute. The hotel is well run and clean, we booked for 2 nights but were so relaxed stayed an extra night. We booked the full sea view room whose balcony looked directly out to sea with an incredible view, you could lie in bed with the balcony door open which was wonderful. We booked the half board option which should be avoided, the food was plentiful but not very good (not 4* anyway) and always stone cold. Needless to say to say, the extra night was just B&B. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close. The town was a real surprise with a peaceful yet vibrant feeling. We stayed mid week and had the feeling it got busier on the weekends. The rooftop pool was small but not too busy (midweek) with plenary of beds and parasols and also spotlessly clean."
Hotel Best Alcázar ★★★★
"Very good hotel, average facilities but very good atmosphere, very nice and helpful staff, cleaning service very reliable. good food and nice pools, not overcrowded, open at 10 so you don't have to reserve sunbeds. we will definitely come back."
Playacálida ★★★★
"Firstly the positives - pools are magnificent, beautiful views, very tranquil location, staff are all friendly and not a problem their English isn’t good, we are in a very unspoilt by tourism part of Spain. Extremely clean in all areas of this huge hotel, it’s immaculate. The pool animation team are great fun. Negatives - firstly only 2 elevators for over 700 rooms, lack of aircon in public areas of the hotel. The worst thing is the food - it’s never warm let alone hot, almost raw omelettes when cooked fresh. Raw parts of chicken when griddled, tasteless, food that none of us can eat & we have like trying different nationalities of food. We have had to have a taxi to the nearest town to eat out most nights and we are all inclusive The restaurant is like a cattle market, no atmosphere in the hotel. Be aware the nearest shop is over 2 miles away, do not underestimate how isolated this hotel is."
Bahía Tropical ★★★★
"No free parking no shops near all close 9 pm staff very bad, food was very bad Hotel nice location Pool to small for the size of Hotel Was horrible, not recommended 👎"
Arrayanes Playa Almuñecar ★★★
"The hotel is in an unbeatable location. Beautiful views of the sea. The hotel urgently needs a renovation of its furniture. That furniture was used during the filming of Alfredo Landa's first spicy film with Betty Mesiego and other average girls (I think that's what the film was called). And the toilet, it's another level! I don't even know how to describe it... it could be 50 years old. I wanted to make a special mention of a girl who claims to be a barista, and according to her there are few left in Spain (in Madrid there may be 80,000) hahahahaha let's see, her CCC course on coffee, she should go over it again. If I had her as an employee she wouldn't last in my business even 5 minutes. Besides being rude, she has no idea how to serve coffee. I'll leave it there. Customers go there to rest and for them to bring us a strong coffee with a little milk (double espresso with a little milk) or double cortado with a little milk x. Absolutely all of her colleagues made me divine coffee except for her. What a joke! She gave me free lessons on cup measurements about coffee. Do you think I was going to argue with you at that hour? In my business, I don't even give lessons on what I sell, much less tell them that they have no idea by constantly clicking my mouth. I am a professional and as such, when they ask me for something that doesn't match the name, I manage to sell them what they ask for, without giving lessons to anyone and without being rude. You have no idea how to serve people for a ******* coffee. Ahhhh, and another very serious thing! My husband went downstairs at 7 am to leave the hotel and the door was closed and NO ONE WAS THERE! He found another super scared client at the reception because she had been waiting there for 15 minutes and no one came. My husband obviously had to search through the drawers to find the keys and open it himself. IF A FIRE OCCURS THE DOOR IS CLOSED... I don't even want to imagine. Anyway... a stone's throw from the beach but overall I'd give it a 1."
La Tartana Hotel Boutique ★★★
"We had a week at this lovely boutique hotel and really enjoyed our stay. We were in room 2 which is large with king bed, aircon, balcony and frig, and a functional bathroom. Tony the host is delightful and warmly greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room, as opposed to handing us a key and wandering around aimlessly. Dinner and breakfast are served on the balcony each night and Tony and his wife cook the meals which are delicious and well priced. Wine is good too. It is a very friendly and delightful place to stay"

"The hotel is very clean and the staff also very friendly. There is very reasonable price restaurant near the hotel"
H Boutique Peña Parda
"We really liked the hotel and a large spacious room with a terrace with sea view. The sea is 2 minutes walk. Nearby is a good restaurant, shops, bars. The only minus is breakfast scarce and uniform. All the rest by 10 points."
Hotel Almijara - Mares
"This is a very good hotel. The rooms are big and very clean and I had a balcony. It's quiet and only about 200 metres from the beach. The breakfast buffet is excellent for a 3 star hotel, all the staff are friendly and helpful especially the lady who runs the restaurant. Parking is a problem in the whole of La Herradura. All in all I was very happy with my stay and the price was very reasonable."
Hotel Suites Albayzin Del Mar
"On arrival to the hotel approx 2pm we were told by the reception staff that our room wasn’t ready and that they were unsure when the room would be available. Meanwhile we were told to enjoy the lunch as a form of compensation for the wait - (myself and husband questioned if this was okay as we were half board and were only entitled to breakfast and evening meal) the lady said most definitely! Fab news for 3 hungry children and ourselves. 630pm we finally got our room after my husband kept checking with reception. Room was beautiful and very spacious. (3 bed apartment) large balcony- unpacked and then went down for evening meal around 830pm ish . To be confronted by a waiter saying we shouldn’t be eating there as we had lunch so therefore would have to pay for our evening meal. We explained what reception had said and he insisted we still had to pay. Meanwhile the waiter was talking amongst other waiters and we were getting stared at most the time ( leaving my 12 year old daughter uncomfortable and in tears thinking she was as doing wrong eating) we all left and headed to clear this up at reception. The lady we spoke to was no longer there we had a gentleman who laughed us off and said we have to pay. At this point we were quite annoyed as we questioned this on arrival to be told it was it was fine. The rest of our stay here we went out and brought breakfast and tea as we felt too uncomfortable in the restaurant area as we were still getting uncomfortable looks. Last day came and we handed our key cards into reception where we were told to pay the €75 for the meal charged to the room we had we told the lady who seemed to have been the manager what had happened and she was really upset and fuming and agreed with us that the gentleman on reception was quite rude and told us we didn’t need to pay the euros and couldn’t apologise enough she was shocked that we had to go out and buy our own food and didn’t eat in the restaurant for the rest of the week after paying half board. Apart from that the pool was amazing. Won’t be returning."
Hotel Victoria Playa
"Hotel with a good location, 5 minutes walk from San Cristobal beach. Spacious and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast (this was the option we booked) with a wide variety. Nice pool although at times it can be small for the number of guests. Pleasant and varied recreational activities every day, especially good recreational activities for children. I definitely recommend it."
Apartamentos Apal Chinasol
"Been here three times. So decided to pay another visit. Was not disappointed. Loving views of the beach. Staff very helpful and friendly. Need not ask for more plenty to do and see in this area. Love the restaurant as the food was so mouth watering see photos. Will visit again"
