We had previously seen the location, having stayed in Alnmouth in 2019, so finding the property on the main Street was simple. Parking is on the street and sometimes difficult but if you are patient spaces seem to appear regularly. You can load and unload right outside but it is on double yellow lines. We stayed in the Seaton room which was a lovely room with en-suite in a separate entrance corridor within the lockable room entrance door and not directly in the bedroom, exclusive to the occupants of the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and large and there is plenty of storage. Shelley (Michelle) and Kevin are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much for them, you almost feel part of their family. The breakfast has many choices, on request, and is freshly prepared at your chosen time. Value for money and if we could we would happily stay again.

Our hosts were very welcoming and did their best to help us. The on- street parking is very difficult, virtually impossible, especially when arriving mid-afternoon. We were then very disappointed. We paid a substantial amount for a 3-night stay in this converted garage. The write up suggested it was near the beach, with a sea view from the sofa! It was in fact squashed in a dingy corner of the guest house back yard with no privacy and a view of washing drying, no outside seating. Inside had a nasty drains/damp smell, room fresheners were being used to try and mask the smell. The décor is basic; the bathroom was nicely done but with no windows in either the bedroom or bathroom. There was no hot water in the shower. For privacy you need to shut all blinds and curtains. The kitchen has a microwave very close to the sink. I would be very surprised if this accommodation unit had a fire certificate.

Very disappointed. Paid a substantial amount for a 4 night stay in this converted garage. The write up suggested it was near the beach. It was in fact squashed in a dingy corner of the guest house back yard with no privacy and no view. Inside was grubby and had a nasty drains smell! The decor was tasteful, the bathroom was nicely done but no windows in either the bedroom or bathroom.

Our hostess met us at the train station and drove us back to The Old Granary. That was a lovely gesture and totally unexpected. We checked in for a two day stay and were given a room right off of the dining room. The room was well appointed, spacious, airy and well lit. Comfortable furniture and furnishings. Situated just a few feet from the beach, The Old Granary, a converted warehouse, is perfect for dining, beach walking and access to the bus to Alnwick. Our hostess was local, a fount of information and very friendly. And a good cook, breakfast was substantial well prepared and beautifully served. I would stay again at the Old Granary and recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay in Alnmouth.

We stayed in the Sunroom. Was spotless and very comfortable. We had our two dogs with us and it was perfect. Small enclosed garden outside the door which was perfect for early morning/late night wees (for the dogs, not us!) also there is a partition so we could have some alone time away from the dogs in the room. Two minutes walk to the most beautiful beach. Some nice pubs/restaurants nearby. Shelley and Kev were fab hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be returning. Dan and Suzy.
