Schooner Hotel

Schooner Hotel

📍 8 Northumberland St, Alnmouth, Alnwick
★★★ 4.9 (93 reviews)

"As a regular traveller and user of many types of hotel and / or hotel / BnB I must say that The standard of decor and cleanliness was the worst I have encountered. Wallpaper was hanging off /  earth wires in the bathroom were exposed. Towels were dirty with rust on them. All the walls were marked / dirty or chipped. The bedroom carpet in room 30 was SO dirty we could smell the dust. Bedroom lights did not work. Halls and stairs were dirty with wallpaper hanging loose and dirty. Stair carpets were so dirty they smelt. Stud walls were hanging loose. All ceilings had dirty marks… I could go on and on and only hope that this review initiates  improvements or prevents others from booking. We did not eat here due to the poor first impressions however the staff seemed happy and  welcoming."

Premier Inn Alnwick

Premier Inn Alnwick

📍 Willowburn Industrial Estate, South Rd, Alnwick
★★★ 8.5 (42 reviews)

"A superb location, ideal to explore Alnwick, Bamborough, Holy Island and Cragside. ( Which is why we stayed). Very friendly and helpful, there were alot of families there at the time, so it felt warm and welcoming. The room was what you expect, initially spotless, but midweek cleaning wasnt really very good. The approach to hotel was abit odd, it had tbe appearance of a run down industrial estate, but dont let that put you off using the hotel."

The Cookie Jar

The Cookie Jar

📍 12 Bailiffgate, Alnwick
★★★ 9.5 (59 reviews)

"The hotel is in a small town, a minute's walk from the attractions we want to visit. It's just that we checked in a little late and it didn't match the room I booked. The room was very small. It can be said that there was no room to put my feet after spreading the suitcases. But the service is still very good. Unlike the booked room type, an extra bed is provided for free. Breakfast was great, typical British atmosphere"

The Shepherd's Rest

The Shepherd's Rest

📍 Alnwick Moor, Alnwick
★★★ 7.5 (16 reviews)

"Two of our party ordered chicken with mash and seasonal vegetables.... The chicken was dry, the mash was cold and the seasonal vegetables consisted of peas! For £14.95 one would expect the chef capable of producing a decent meal. Avoid here!"

Alnwick Lodge

Alnwick Lodge

📍 West Cawledge Park, Alnwick
★★★ 8.6 (101 reviews)

"Really enjoyed my first stay. Staff were very pleasent. Breakfast was pleantiful and well presented. You must have your own transport as there were no buses. There's too much of a long walk into Alnwick by the A1 mortorway. That's not very pleasent or safe. The only issue I had was with the awlful television (It certainly needs updating) in the Cart Shed accommodation. The hand controller was useless."

White Swan Hotel

White Swan Hotel

📍 Bondgate Within, Alnwick
★★★ 8.0 (102 reviews)

"The White Swan is an old hotel it requires to be updated although the room we had been recently updated, most of the hotel is on various levels with no lifts (elevators) the food was average, service by the young staff very good there was no facilities apart from the bar the hotel is very central to the town"

Bailiffgate Hotel

The Tavern - Steakhouse and Lodge ★★★
"Amazing and simple place to stay. Immaculately clean - the bathroom was so tidy and smelled very nice. If you're planning to have a nice dinner there - the tavern provides priority sitting for the guests of the Inn - so you'll get a table even if it's busy. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Perfect for a short stay."

"Great value for money. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Only slight downside was the room was so hot but we were only there one night so I didn’t raise this with the staff. Breakfast was good and staff all great."
