"Thank you to the Margreiter Family for making our second visit to their superb hotel, and the lovely village of Alpbach, so memorable! We both enjoyed ourselves immensely and we will be back again for more, one day soon. The food prepared and served by your chefs and waiters was just wonderful! Every course of every meal was special, and it was a delight for my wife, who does most of the culinary work at home. We were particularly pleased to have a table by the window overlooking your fantastic view of mountains. Our room was so comfortable, and the ‘Alpine’ pillows enchanting and different every day – great imagination by the maid! Your health spa is the best we’ve ever experienced and it’s perfect for relaxing after a day on the pistes of the Wiedersbergerhorn. We both love Austria now, and want to return in the summer months for a walking holiday, possibly with other family members. Please pass our warmest good wishes to all your staff, and especially to both Monika’s, and Peter and Christophe who gave us exceptional service and the warmest of welcomes. It is lovely that you all recognized us, even after 14-months."

"I stayed at the hotel together with 200 of my collegues on a conference that lasted four days. The hotel itsel is nice even though it is impossible to learn how to find your way to the room since there are several buildings built together. The service at the bar was really unorganised and there where seven people standing in the bar but only two that actually served bear and drinks, and only one person that you could pay to. The other ones could only receive the free drinking voucher that we received, but when you have used the voucher you had to pay, to that one person that had the cashier machine. The worst part was that the hotel lost my quite expensive blouses. I had a single room and forgot two of my blouses in the wardrobe, that was of course my own fault but when I called and asked if they had found them, it was impossible for them to find them in the room. How is that possible? I stayed on my own in the room and we left on a monday so I guess no one actually stayed in the room after me. The blowses where hanged neatly in the wardrobe, they were not hard to find. This was my second time in alpbach, actually my second conference and if I need to go there again I will just stay at home and not join. "

"While the evening service in the restaurant was excellent, the overall experience fell well short of expectations for a five-star hotel. Due to the open kitchen, the smell of food permeated the entire property — already noticeable at breakfast and even more so at lunchtime. The spa area was underwhelming and lacked the sophistication one would expect from a luxury property. From the outside, the hotel also fails to present the elegance typical of its rating. Particularly troubling were the poor standards of cleanliness in our room, including visible dirt left by previous guests, and the front desk staff, whose service was unfortunately chaotic and unprofessional. One positive note: the Wi-Fi connection was reliable and fast throughout the property. A stay here might suit less demanding guests, but for those expecting true five-star quality, this is not the right place."

"We have just returned from a week at the Alphof. The hotel was perfect. We stayed in a Bergidyll room which was spacious, comfortable and spotless. These rooms have a balcony but the balcony is not quite as private as we would have liked as they basically open up into.a huge patio with a small divider between each room. The hotel pool was great to unwind in and has a good sauna though we did not use. The food was excellent with a 4 course varied menu. The hotel staff went out of the way to accommodate my lactose intolerance, providing alternative desserts and oat milk at breakfast. They also had a great selection of glutin free breakfast items for those who need it. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and a bonus were cakes and soup being provided between 3 and 5pm. The hotel put on a free Tyrolean evening for guests on Thursday evenings which was entertaining. The hotel staff and the owner were helpful and friendly and we were given a gift of Alphof jam on leaving. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Alphof again. The only minor negative was location as if you had limited mobility you would struggle as the Alphof is at the top of the hill. This was no problem to us but could be to older guests. You can hike from the front door of the hotel and we did some lovely walks. The Alphof is a great place to relax and unwind and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone thinking of a break in Alpbach."
