"We throughly enjoyed our stay at Mainzer Tor, where we stayed 1 night on our way back from France to Denmark. You access the room by getting a code to access the key and the room was super clean and comfortable. The Pension is located smack in the middle of the old, historic and picturesque Alsfeld which offers great atmosphere and dining options. Breakfast is available just accross the street in the old bakery. We found a chaging station for our electric car 5 mins away from the Pension. The remote control for the TV did not work but that is all we can complain about. We'll use this place also next year."

Stadthotel Alsfeld ★★★

"The staff at reception and breakfast were very courteous and polite. Unfortunately, our room was forgotten by housekeeping! The fire doors are blocked with wedges and are therefore unusable in case of fire. I worked for a professional fire department for 38 years and know what I'm talking about. Nevertheless, on my next stay in Alsfeld, I will book a room again and simply remove the wedges myself, if the owner hasn't already done so. This is for the safety of his guests."

"My room was fairly basic, sort of 70s style, clean but uninspiring. Has EV charging but you need your own Type 2 cable. Highlight was the evening meal which was veal with excellent horseradish sauce. Breakfast was OK but unlikely to make one euphoric. Overall a *** experience as classified."

"Hôtel Villa Raab is a charming, modern hotel located next to a historic villa. Unfortunately, our stay got off to a rough start when we were given the wrong room key and accidentally entered another guest’s room. While the issue was resolved, we did not receive a proper apology and it impacted our stay. Our room had modern decor and a well-designed bathroom. Breakfast, served in the villa, was fine and could have been more varied. On the positive side, there was plenty of parking available on-site."
