We’ve been a lot of places in the world and this is one of our favorites! The lodge is so quaint and cozy for a wonderful winter stay. Our lodge was small, but everything we needed with lots of little details thought of and a beautiful upstairs loft to hang out and watch for the northern lights. The dog sledding was a blast and although I was reluctant to drive the sled, I was so glad I did! The real highlight of Trasti and Trine is the food! From the breakfast to the family style dinner to the multi-course wine paired dinner, we were nothing less than impressed. The owners are friendly and kind, taking a lot of pride in what they do - And it shows. I would highly recommend a stay and we’ve been discussing when we could visit again!

If you are in the Alta area I absolutely recommend you stay and eat here; small two-story wooden bungalows with a panoramic roof to see the author in the woods with a small reception that serves as a room for breakfast and dinner. The food is really delicious. A different choice from the usual hotels. We loved it. They, like all Nordic people, are very kind.
