Hotel West Court Amami II
"The location is very good. Located in the downtown area, there is no complaint for night meals and drinks. Although it is a downtown area, the rooms were not noisy and comfortable. Amenity is also complete and there is no complaint. It is especially nice to have a large communal bath! It refreshes the sweaty body and relieves fatigue. It was convenient to check in out on the machine."
Hotel Sun Days Amami ★★★
"They said they had a room available so they upgraded me to a larger room. The bath was great and the breakfast was fantastic. I'd like to use this hotel again when I go to Amami."
Hotel West Court Amami ★★
"The location is convenient, with an airport bus stop right in front of the hotel. It's about a 15-minute drive to Ohama Seaside Park, famous for its sunsets. There are also restaurants and a shopping street nearby. The breakfast was delicious too!"
West Court Amami WA TERRACE
"It can be written naturally and warmly: The staff was very kind and the front desk was polite and professional. It was really helpful to prepare a knife and fork for the child's birthday cake. Check-in procedure was also very easy and we were able to start our stay smoothly. Thanks to that, I was able to spend a pleasant time. If I have another chance, I would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much!"
Amami Yagijima Hotel ★★★
"It's alright, expensive and small."
Hotel New Amami ★★★
"Situated in the heart of the city, next is shopping street, another street for restaurants and bars. Also can try the traditional cuisine and cultural performance in the local restaurant."
Guest house AMATERRACE
"This is a wonderful guest house with clean spacious rooms. There is everything necessary for a comfortable rest in the building, and staff are always ready to help! Thank you!"
Amami Resort Hotel Thida Moon ★★★★
"Tidamoon is a resort hotel located along the beach about 5km south of Amami Airport. This hotel was created to express the worldview of "Neriyakanaya," an ideal land that has been passed down in Amami Oshima for generations, and is apparently run by an Oshima Tsumugi silk weaving company. As such, there is an Oshima Tsumugi Art Museum inside the hotel, and an Oshima Tsumugi Museum across the road. Since it is built along the beach, our room faced the beautiful Amami Blue coastline. The window faced east, so the sunrise came directly in front of us. We stayed at this hotel for the last two nights of our 8-day trip to Amami, and the dinners and breakfasts we had during our stay were gorgeous and delicious, while also giving us a real sense of Amami. You can also go down to the beach from the hotel, and you can take your time to visit the Oshima Tsumugi Museum and the art museum, so we recommend staying for multiple nights."
Amami Resort Basyayamamura ★★★
"I was determined to eat chicken rice on my trip to Amami. There are many famous restaurants, but I chose Bashayama Village, where Ryohei Suzuki had eaten. I could have more rice, and the authentic taste was the best!"

Kami House
"It was located in the suburbs, within walking distance to Naze, the center of Amami City. I rented a car at Amami Airport and visited by car. It was a little far away, but there was also a parking lot. The owner and his wife were kind and thought about a travel plan. We also introduced the restaurant for dinner and made a reservation. Breakfast was handmade and the chicken rice was especially delicious. The bath and room were like a rural house, but I was able to stay calm. Since it is a guest house, unlike the hotel, I think that few people care about the interior and scenery of the room, but it is recommended if it is a tourist main."
AZ Hotel Amami Island
"I book this villa for its outdoor jacuzzi, but turns out that the jacuzzi does not work!! I contacted the hotel email and received no reply for my 2-night stay. The shower hose on the jacuzzi tub got only the shower head without the tube, and so the "jacuzzi" renders to a big bath tub, which of course makes a difference to having a real jacuzzi. The location is also quite remote. The hotel is situated inbetween pieces of land where the locals pay tribute to their ancestors (you get what I am referring to). Personally I am fine with that, but nonetheless want to point out for prospective guests to take note. I have rented a car to get to the hotel on its GPS. I am not sure if its remoteness makes the car unable to arrive at the hotel on its GPS resulting in me going back to the car rental seeking for help. If it is not for a local staff there to take me to the hotel, I probably won't be able to arrive at the hotel relying on GPS (note that the car's GPS is fine getting to other places on Amami Island, just unable to locate the hotel). Apart from the above, the hotel is as described per her other facilities (except of course the jacuzzi). It is clean too. Still, I would not book it again."
Cabochon Camp
"If you don’t speak Japanese or have a car, do not stay here. The taxi driver had no idea where it was and no signs when I got there. It is very ramshackle and messy, with little indication of where to go for the cottage. 5 mins to the beautiful Tomari beach and there is a restaurant. The locals took me to a festival which was fabulous, but other than that I didn’t see a soul for two days."
