Beautiful house. It was great that I was given a pick of my room since no one else was staying there that weekend. My stay was very relaxing. Central air is great. I'm guessing breakfast would have been wonderful, but I couldn't partake so I'm just keeping the faith. The innkeeper was nice, a little severe perhaps, but that's understandable. The house seemed like a labor of love, and it felt like it. On my first night I started worrying because the innkeeper didn't tell me how I would be paying. I started to wonder if I'd have to pay cash. She had said on the phone that she would cover the hotel tax, which was a great deal! Anyway, the toilet seat was ancient and mucked up, but that's okay. There was a used face cloth on a bar in the shower, but that's okay. The mattress was very old and hurt my back a little, but that's okay. The house is wonderful, and it was an honor to stay there. On my last day, I heard that the innkeeper had arrived and was rustling down on the first floor. I went downstairs and wanted to go outside and put my bags in my car before saying good morning and settling up. I would go back inside and climb the stairs and put the keys back in the room as instructed. But the innkeeper came outside with a flourish and apprehended me before I could get away. I had put the room keys on my key ring, and as I took them off, she pointed to my key ring and said she needed that back. I looked at it, knowing she was wrong, and saw my multitool on my key ring, and said it was mine and asked if that made sense. She didn't contest it, but I felt embarrassed now, and just asked how I could pay. I wish she would have let me come back inside like I was an honorable person. I had been wondering since the first night if I would have to pay cash, which I did not have on me. Thankfully, I could pay by credit card, but I was informed that I would have to pay the tax if not paying by cash! I could have gotten the cash if informed up from that these were the rules. So, this is a great place to say. Beautiful house. Just bring cash.
