The hotel's location is excellent, but unfortunately, that seems to be its only redeeming quality. The room itself was dirty, and the furnishings were very old and outdated. I was unpleasantly surprised to find a thick layer of dust on the shelf and the bathtub in a deplorable state, covered in stubborn stains. After I raised my concerns about the cleanliness to reception, I was promised a thorough cleaning. However, the next day, the cleaning staff didn't even touch the bathtub (the same hair from the morning was still there). The reception desk did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. On top of that, they had the nerve to suggest I was 'too sensitive' about the cleaning and that the housekeeper 'was tired that day.' The breakfast staff were cold and unwelcoming; they didn't even offer a simple 'good morning.' This hotel has potential due to its prime location in the heart of Amsterdam, but it desperately needs renovation and new, quality staff who actually know how to do their jobs properly. (I was in room 419).

The worst swissotel stay! 1.the reception lady charged us wrong city tax euro2000 which the correct is euro 200.- instead!! We noticed the over charged and ask for correction ! 2.the room is old and bathroom got flooded over to the room after we took shower !! We called housekeeping yo mop the floor, and ask for changing room!! 3.the only good thing is good location.

Located 10min walk from Ams central station and at the centre of the old town, it’s convenient to get to lots of the touristy spots like the dam plaza, red light district and commuting is easy. We were warmly welcomed by Rob from the hotel and he could share good recommendations of whereabouts of the city. Very grateful for the hospitality. The room itself is spacious and quiet even the hotel is located at the centre. Would recommend this to other travellers!

The hotel in good location but there no parking, the nearest one is 60 euro per day , so the car renting is not the best choice for this hotel

We were lucky to stay at this Swissotel in Amsterdam. When my passport was lost, they went above and beyond to help me find it including letting me to back to the room after check out to look for it, talking to neighboring hotels, and checking security cameras. We will forever be indebted to them for that extra effort. Aside from that, the gym is well-equipped but has a low-medium amount of foot traffic. The room is also comfortable with a heating system that works well. Thanks to the team at Swissotel.

Edwardo gave us a very warm welcome. Gym was sufficent for my husband. Location is very convenient.Only dissatisfaction is probably the towels. They were rough!

Great location and staff, but poor cleanliness I liked this hotel overall, mainly because of its fantastic location right in the center of Amsterdam. It was extremely convenient for walking around the city, and all the main attractions are very close by. The staff was friendly, multilingual, and helpful with everything. They gave us great recommendations on where to go and even lent us an umbrella for the rain. Our room on the 4th floor was very spacious, especially by Amsterdam standards. However, the cleanliness was a major disappointment. The room was poorly cleaned: there was a lot of dust, the closets were dirty, and the coffee machine was so filthy that we didn't even want to use it. My overall impression is not bad, but due to the lack of cleanliness, I would not stay at this hotel again.

I quite enjoyed my stay at Swissôtel Amsterdam. The service was very welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The location is extremely convenient, it's only about a 10-minute walk from the central train station, which made it very easy to get around. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. That said, the area does get quite crowded, which wasn't entirely to my liking, but some people might not mind it at all. Overall, it was a solid stay and definitely worth it for the location and service. I would recommend it!

I would like to sincerely thank the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable, but I would especially like to recognize Mark, who truly made our stay unforgettable. His professionalism, patience, kindness, and calm approach were outstanding. He took the time to help us with everything we needed and made us feel genuinely welcome. Mark is a real asset to Swissôtel, and I sincerely hope the management recognizes the exceptional service he provides. Our room was spotless, and the housekeeping standards were among the best I have ever experienced. Despite the hotel being located right in the heart of Amsterdam, the room was incredibly quiet—we couldn’t hear any outside noise, which made for a perfect night’s sleep. The location is unbeatable, with Dam Square and all the main attractions just a short walk away. Everything you need is right on your doorstep.
