Aptel Studio Hotel

The place is clean and quiet, but very poor customer sevice from General Manager Lynessa and customer service representative named Natalie. Demanding and so unprofessional in handling cases when approaching guests about status of staying especially if the booking was under a different party due to emergency evacuations. I just smh on how a person of a big title don't know what they're dealing with at most times. Are there still companies out there that does courtesy phone calls when approaching people to protect privacy? The two people mentioned above had done other families of my background the same. ***Friendly reminder- trainings are held annually at most areas of life for a reason. General Manager should really look into participating customer service trainings again and please carry with you a friendly attitude because some of your actions or words toward people can be a lawsuit somwday.
Four Points by Sheraton Anchorage Downtown

The location is very good, it takes 3 minutes to get to the Anchorage Museum. The front desk staff was very nice, the order showed that check-in was only possible at 3 pm, and the check-in was smooth at 12 o'clock. There is also a small living room in the room, which is very practical.

We stayed for 3 nights. Although it is 5 miles from the airport, their shuttle service is great. Hotel is closer to many restaurants as well. Our room was quite spacious and clean. It would have been nice if there was a better view. Breakfast was relatively good but not the best. Pool and hot tub were well maintained. Front desk staff was very helpful. Overall, I will call it as Nice hotel.
Wingate by Wyndham Anchorage Downtown/Ship Creek

Breakfast is average, hotel service is OK. When arriving at the hotel, the hotel did not send a pick-up service to reimburse the taxi hotel. Remind: If the hotel asks for a taxi to arrive, please ask the driver to go to the front desk when you get off the bus, let the front desk pay the fare, don't pay for it yourself, take the ticket to find the hotel for reimbursement, otherwise they will ask you to find the taxi driver to sign the reimbursement. of. In addition, I would like to ask Ctrip, the hotel that was booked more than two months in advance, set the non-cancellable terms. Within a few days, the hotel price was reduced by more than 200 RMB per room per night. Is this not for me? Book your hotel in advance? Or find another platform to order? Book a bad review directly to the hotel! Can't you make money like this? If you book in advance not only do not enjoy the benefits of advance payment, who will choose this way?
The Hotel Captain Cook

We have stayed here 3 times in the last 5 years. It was great 5 years ago, but the last two years in a row they have given our room away. We live in Seattle and flew up for our 30th anniversary on Valentine's Day. I booked a specific junior suite 7 MONTHS in advance and called 2 days before we arrived to assure we still had that room. I was told we did. When I booked it with manager Brian Mercereau, he assured me we would have that room. He called me back and said the room was occupied and it ”was out of his hands”, but to ask for him when we got in from our flight. He assured me he would be there. When we checked in, he had left for the day. To make a long story short, we ended up on the 8th floor - we were supposed to have been on the 18th floor when I booked. Five days later we started smelling paint coming in through the vents. I called downstairs to be told they were painting on the 2 floors above us and all rooms there were being painted. So we had to move AGAIN to get away from the smell. We were there for 8 days and spent over $2100. When we checked out, an older man with glasses didn't even ask how our stay was, never said thank you, just handed us our bill receipt and said ”there ya go.” The bottom line is you aren't valued as a guest at the Hotel Captain Cook - even return guests. You are just a number and they couldn't care less. Everyone else is wonderful in the hotel from the valet attendants, bellhops, restaurant workers, etc. But their front desk really needs work. Most of the time they are cold and aloof. They don't care about their guests in the long run.
Ramada by Wyndham Anchorage Downtown

We are two travelers that have stayed in hostels in the past. We have health and cleanliness standards but are definitely not considered fancy travelers. This Ramada isn't horrible, but the brown crusty stains on the ceilings and walls of the bathroom were a bit concerning. The talcum powder perfume scent in the room was so overwhelming that we set the AC on and left for a few hours hoping the smell would clear a little. It helped! The AC worked great and was a powerful little thing. The room itself was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. We were thankful that the room wasn't carpeted. Staff could be heard yelling across the hallways and stairwells past 1am about cleaning duties and money. Doors slamming and banging of sorts continued on throughout the night. Same trash was in the elevator for over 24 hours. Again, it was definitely better than sleeping on a cot and it provided a place to rest our heads. But the fact that I personally felt uncomfortable falling asleep due to all the aggressive noises heard right outside the door, potentially from people who had access to the room, rendered me to knock down a few points for sleeping with one eye open.
