We stayed here a few weeks ago and so enjoyed our stay that we are heading back in May. The Inn in is nicely decorated, very clean, centrally located, and the manager Billi is full of insights into things to see and do in Lewiston. Coupons toward breakfast at two nearby places meant we got to explore two excellent food options we might have missed. Lewiston is not the tidiest looking small city, but among the history museum and river walk across the Androscoggin, Bates College, Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary, DaVinci's and Baxter Brewing restaurants, the up-and-coming Somali shops and restaurants (some of which we missed because of Ramadan), and the dumb luck of making it to the weekly French-language conversation group at the Franco Center, our two-night stay was one of our best off-the-beaten-path adventures ever!

Was looking for a place to stay in Lewiston Maine. Did not want a chain hotel then stumbled onto the Inn at the Agora while surfing the web. I called and booked ahead after browsing their site and viewing the rooms. When I arrived, I was utterly delighted by the Inn. It was a historic building and had “ Old World Charm “ with modern amenities. The high tech touch screen locks made me feel very safe as a traveler alone . My room had high ceilings and oversized windows as well as quaint furnishings and was squeaky clean. There was a kitchen stocked with goodies and drinks for the guests to use as they desired. There was free parking also which was a plus. Needless to say , I would stay there again and would recommend it to those who are looking for a cozy stay in a comfortable place where you can dress casually, take a minute to pet the Inns pet pooch and grab a snack from the kitchen and retire to a very secure and comfy room . Not to mention the Inn keeper was a delight , giving a little history about the Inn itself and JFK Park across the way. Thanks to the Inn for a lovely but all too short stay.

Bright, modern pretty room. Comfortable bed and bedding. There’s a hospitality area with snacks and beverages available 24 hours/day, which is a big plus for us early risers. Congenial staff, good parking, all in a spectacular old building. Convenient to New England School of Metalworking.

Every year during the Dempsey Challenge in Lewiston we stay at the Inn at the Agora. It's a lovely, friendly place and it always feels like family. That was the same this year! We are looking forward to next year. Thank hank you!

The Inn at the Agora has a unique history. It was formally the parsonage of St. Patrick’s Church. St. Patrick’s Church is now The Agora Events Center. Both buildings were built in the mid-1800s and have a historic charm to them. The first year we stayed at the Inn we made the acquaintance of the Innkeeper, Billie Jayne. She personally gave us a tour of the Events Center when we expressed some curiosity. It was fascinating to hear how the church was converted into the Event Center and to see the transformation. The Inn and Events Center sit across the street from Kennedy Park, named for John F. Kennedy because he campaigned there on November 6, 1960 when running for president. Directly across Kennedy Park from the Inn is another historic building, the town’s City Hall which houses the Lewiston Police Department. It was also built in the 1800s as well. As historic as these buildings and park are, most people know this area for Simone’s Hot Dogs. Simone’s, a family run restaurant since 1908 is located next door to the City Hall and Police Department. If you’re looking to stay in the Lewiston area, it’s probably because you have ties or roots to the area. The general public vacationing in Maine heads to the coast for rest and relaxation. I was raised in Lewiston, so staying at the Inn at The Agora is a must for me. Staying at the Inn brings back floods of fond memories. As a youngster, I attended Sunday service at St. Patrick's Church which is now the events center. I learned to swim at the community pool at Kennedy Park. My family included members of the Lewiston Police Department. As a teenager I’m pretty sure I ate my weight in red hotdogs at Simone’s. Besides having a personal history in Lewiston, we still have family and friends living in the area which is why we stay at The Inn at the Agora when we’re in town. The rooms are always super clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable, exactly what you’d expect from a nice boutique inn. As I mentioned, I spent a lot of time at Simone’s as a youngster. Now when we stay at the Inn, we enjoy a breakfast at Simone’s. Yes, Simone’s serves breakfast as well as hot dogs. If you have ties to Lewiston and need a place to stay in the area, The Inn at the Agora is the way to go!

Unfortunately the town is not the best one in the US (at least I hope there are better ones). Staying here for 5 nights as my husband was attending a conference at Bates College we made the best of it. I would have liked to give it 4 stars for the kindness and helpfulness of the owner and her staff (thank you Crissie for driving us to the shuttle bus back to Boston), but the hotel itself is not new. The fact that snacks, tea bags and coffee pods are available 24h do not balance the fact that there is no breakfast. Breakfast opportunities in town are horrible, at least to my taste. I would return there (it really is the best in town) but I hope my husband will skip future conferences at Bates.

The Inn at the Agora is a hidden gem in the middle of Lewiston. We booked it because it was cheap and we were blown away. The host, Billie-Jayne, was wonderful, the building was historic and the room was immaculate. Our stay was nicer than any comparable hotel. There was an assortment of games and activities for use in the multiple parlor rooms and complimentary snacks and candy were available throughout the house. Additionally, they provided a full binder of places to go and things to do in Lewiston along with a small breakfast coupon to local eateries. Really we can’t recommend it enough, we wish we could have stayed longer. If we ever end up in Lewiston again we will definitely be staying here.

What a gem!!! We were there for a family wedding in Auburn. Our room, The Wallace Suite, was large and comfortable. The linens were lovely. If you can catch Billie-Jayne, ask her to give you a tour of the church--it's really amazing along with the story of how it all came to be. It was especially nice to have access to the kitchen area where there's always a snack and something to drink. We always appreciate an Inn or B&B that makes you feel like it's your home, too and this was definitely the case here. We spent 2 evenings out on the big front porch; 1 after walking to and from McGritty's Pub for dinner. Something you should know, they don't serve breakfast but DO give you a nice little coupon to a great, walkable, locally popular place and there are quite a few good restaurants in the area. The owners and staff couldn't have been nicer. If we ever to have reason to return to the Lewiston/Auburn area we will definitely return!

We had a delightful stay at the Inn at the Agora, where the innkeeper Billy was very welcoming and provided useful suggestions for restaurants, etc. The room was clean and lovely, the bed comfortable, and we appreciated the beverages, use of the fridge, ice, and other amenities provided.
