Banyan Tree Anji

I particularly loved the ESG concept of Banyan Tree. After much deliberation, I chose a day when the afterglow of the white dolphins was still present to come to Anji for some water fun. With both young and old in our group, and considering the kids' boisterous age and the elders' preference for quiet, we opted for a courtyard villa with a private hot spring. The night before check-in: A butler (Summer) called to confirm our arrival time the next day, specific arrangements for our group, and any special requests. She also proactively shared information about the hotel's dining and entertainment facilities, as well as recommended nearby attractions (a detail worth praising: travel time and operating hours were clearly marked). Check-in: We arrived at the hotel after 3 PM on the day of check-in. A staff member offered us cool towels and welcome tea, which indeed helped alleviate much of the summer heat. The green pastry also looked quite refreshing. As it was peak summer season and our booked villa was one of a back-to-back sequence, we waited for about 15 minutes. During the wait, a staff member offered us white tea to taste. Our group spent time outside the Lobby bar, where we could take in a panoramic view of the outdoor pool and the hotel's staggered architecture, with perfectly placed greenery. Our butler, Summer, and a concierge staff member drove us to our room in a buggy. The villa numbers in the villa area gave a sense of 'a journey unfolding, with a promising future.' We stayed in 2020, and the privacy was excellent. It was a one-bedroom, one-living room layout with a high ceiling, visually about 5 meters. Even during a thunder and lightning storm that night, there was only a very subtle sound inside the room, demonstrating the careful selection of soundproofing materials. The private hot spring was in the courtyard, constant temperature with massage jets. After a 'special forces' day of activities, sitting by the pool and massaging our legs was incredibly relaxing, so much so that we didn't even use the large bathtub in the bathroom. The first round of the mini-bar was complimentary and generally met the needs of a family, with milk for the kids, 'happy water' (soda) and beer for adults, and juices for health-conscious individuals. The hotel also thoughtfully provided a dehumidifier and air purifier on the first floor to address humidity and air quality. The two gentlemen in our group found it particularly convenient to step out into the courtyard for a smoke whenever they opened the door. There was turn-down service every night, which included stress-relief squishy toys for the children. If I had one minor suggestion, it would be more convenient to have another phone in the living room. Wi-Fi connection was easy, but the speed was average. The soft services at the hotel were excellent. Every staff member we encountered had a proactive service mindset, and when walking in the villa area, they would thoughtfully greet guests and offer directions. We went to the outdoor pool in the late afternoon, and it was truly beautiful. The children had a great time in the kids' pool, while the indoor pool was relatively neglected. Breakfast was at the Shang Fang Thai Restaurant. Every night, Summer would thoughtfully remind us of the dining times and peak hours to avoid crowds and enhance the dining experience. The outdoor area of the restaurant was particularly impressive, with water stations for dogs and a spot for practicing Ba Duan Jin (a type of Qigong). The indoor buffet stations were concentrated, with a rich variety. I particularly liked the pho, which had a light flavor. It's worth mentioning that the front and back of the restaurant worked seamlessly together; there were no food shortages even during peak hours, and the chefs were very willing to interact with guests and were friendly to children. The bedding was very comfortable, and towels, etc., felt brand new, having been updated in July, offering an excellent user experience. Men's and women's toiletries bags were separately equipped with razors, cotton pads, and shower caps, addressing everyone's differentiated needs. My husband really liked the scent of the shower gel and plans to look for the same one at home. The room's blackout curtains were very effective. Waking up in the morning and opening the curtains to enjoy the green view outside was truly wonderful – this must be the meaning of hard work, haha. On the second evening, small peacocks delivered a turn-down surprise. Opening the window revealed beauty (they were actually seeking shelter from the rain). Soon after, the staff escorted them back to their coop. Hehe, a testament to the staff's efficiency. My butler was still sending reminders for the next day after 10 PM every night, and then early in the morning around 8 AM, she sent comforting messages and inquired about a convenient time for room cleaning. These were actually her personal non-working hours, which speaks to the dedication of hotel staff. Thank you for your efforts. I hope this humble sharing can help everyone solidify their choices.

My stay at Banyan Tree Anji fell a bit short of expectations. Although I had connected with the staff via WeChat beforehand and felt a degree of attention during my stay, with most phone requests being met, I still felt a lack of warmth and attention to detail overall. As a renowned brand, Banyan Tree's resort design and aesthetic appeal are indeed outstanding, creating a relaxing ambiance. The room amenities also showed thoughtfulness – a dehumidifier, Dyson hairdryer, and electric curtains were all provided. However, the actual experience was compromised: the shower water pressure was weak, and the air conditioning and dehumidifier operated with significant noise, affecting the quality of rest. What was more concerning were the oversights in cleanliness and maintenance. The dehumidifier's interior was visibly dusty, and the air conditioner vents, curtains, screens, and windows were all covered in dust. There were even mosquito stains on the curtains. After the toilet was repaired, the service staff didn't re-clean the area despite being present; when cleaning the dehumidifier's water tank, water spilled everywhere and wasn't thoroughly wiped up. Even more unsettling was that after emptying the trash, the staff member prepared to make the bed without washing their hands, only doing so after being prompted. Later, a clean towel accidentally fell to the floor but was then placed directly back into the pile of clean towels. The dining experience was equally disappointing. We tried both the Chinese and Thai restaurants, and the taste, presentation, and service were far from satisfactory; I wouldn't recommend them overall. For a resort hotel, dining should be a bonus, but here it became a drawback. While aging hardware can be renovated, the laxness in hygiene, service, and dining reflects a lack of effective management, training, and supervision. Upon check-out, no one assisted with luggage, and after loading the car, I saw staff members frowning and looking distracted. These small details collectively detracted significantly from what should have been a relaxing vacation. I sincerely hope the hotel takes these issues seriously and establishes a more comprehensive closed-loop management system, from training to execution, and from supervision to assessment, to truly deliver the quality that Banyan Tree should uphold.

Staying in the mountains, the dehumidifier in the room was a great and very comfortable experience. The hotel's main focus is service, and this time there were absolutely no issues. From checking in at the entrance to entering the room, we were accompanied every step of the way. The stay was fantastic, and their coconut water in the lobby is delicious – highly recommend it!

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, with a traditional Huizhou architectural style featuring white walls and black tiles. It's surrounded by rolling mountains and vibrant, layered foliage. We booked a mountain view room for two nights. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM, but it was a bit of a hassle. After several discussions, we finally got checked in at 4 PM. The room itself was quite spacious, and the hardware facilities were well-maintained, though they did show some age. Housekeeping was excellent, and they even offered turn-down service, including two small turn-down gifts. We dined at the Baiyun Hall, which was generally good, but our noodle order was initially incorrect and had to be re-made. Breakfast in the ground floor restaurant was of good quality and offered a wide variety of options. The hotel's recreational facilities, however, need some maintenance. The karaoke room, in particular, looked like it hadn't been used in a long time. Overall, the staff were good, and our butler, Summer Shen, provided excellent service.

Staying at Angsana Anji, I'd like to give a special shout-out to our butler, Summer Shen. It was a hot day when we arrived, and she thoughtfully reminded us about staying cool. Whether it was questions about dining or directions for sightseeing, she answered everything patiently. The hotel's facilities are top-notch, and the courtyard views are beautiful. Her butler service wasn't just a formality; she genuinely helped guests resolve issues, making it a wonderful stay.

I stayed at Banyan Tree Anji during a break from a business trip. Our butler, Summer Shen, efficiently handled our check-in and other related matters, balancing our work and vacation needs. She was very responsive to messages and gave us some simple suggestions for nearby activities. The hotel is quiet, perfect for rest and relaxation. Summer was professional and competent, and her service was just right. This hotel is suitable for both business and leisure stays.

Staying at Anji Banyan Tree with friends, the butler service from Summer Shen was truly impressive. We had quite a few requests, and she patiently addressed each one, helping us coordinate bookings and offering itinerary suggestions. The hotel itself is incredibly photogenic, with a beautiful infinity pool and courtyard. Summer was professional and patient, making our trip much smoother and allowing us to fully enjoy our stay.

The hotel environment is elegant and comfortable. Our butler, Summer, provided attentive service, arranging a room upgrade and a late check-out. Both the Chinese and Thai restaurants were decent, and the pool water quality was good. The complimentary travel photoshoot was also well done and not a superficial offering. Overall, we had a very satisfying stay, and the kids want to come back again!

For my 5-day, 4-night trip, the last two days we switched from a private hot spring villa to a lake-view suite, which offered a completely different and delightful experience. The stay was very comfortable, and the weather was fantastic throughout the trip. Our butler, Summer, continued to provide excellent service.
