Longyuan Holiday Hot Spring Hotel

The location is great for visiting the sacred mountain area. The hotel itself is quite aged and would benefit from modernisation and new carpets. But that part was ok. I was however disappointed by the small size of the hot spring area. Only two pools were opened outdoor and they closed at 9pm, I. Spite of hotel telling be they close at 11pm. Between 9 to 11 pm is opened indoor onsen, that is nice but very different than outdoor complex. So the first night I was able to use only onsen, but second night after hike I used also outdoor pools and I was practically alone there, what was nice. The main problem came about AC, that in description is included. The first night I was told that it was broken and just repaired and in two hours it will start working. I was given a fan. With good hope I waited for cooler air (it was 28 inside the room), but u til 4 am I could not sleep. The next day unfortunately I was told the same, what was hard to believe. This time corridors were nicely cooled. Only when I said I will leave to another hotel and ask for full refund, suddenly the temperature dropped.

The location was perfect, close to the Qianshan Scenic area. The hotel itself was quite dated, and the furnishings were a bit shabby, but nothing out of the ordinary for the price. The 'hot springs' were really just the swimming pool, which was heated, a kids pool, and a small 'hotter' bathing pool. There does seem to be an outdoor bathing area, but this was empty in Early May - perhaps it would be open later in the year. The staff were friendly, but very non-plussed by a foreigner - they obviously don't get many. I was presented a wonton soup for breakfast at 7.45 AM, and got two swimming vouchers, although i suspect this was per room, so you may need to pay for extra swim vouchers.
