DoubleTree by Hilton Changbaishan Hot Spring

Upon arriving at the hotel yesterday, the two young men at the front desk were incredibly kind and helpful. They booked our tickets, arranged our train schedule to the station, offered a complimentary hot spring experience, and even gave us a gift. We could also write well wishes for our family with a brush pen in the lobby. The room was fantastic – with a balcony – and offered incredible value for money. As hotel guests, we could use the VIP lane to enter the Changbai Mountain scenic area directly, saving us from long queues. The hotel's surroundings are beautiful and comfortable; I enjoyed a morning run and breathed in the high-concentration oxygen. Breakfast was quite rich, and dinner at the 2nd-floor restaurant was convenient and delicious, perfectly suiting our taste. All in all, it was a very pleasant Changbai Mountain trip!

Jackson's service was excellent, and Eric was great too. Zhao Wenli at the restaurant provided outstanding service.

Facilities: Excellent, a very comfortable stay. Hygiene: Very clean. Environment: Superb, the air around the hotel is fresh and clean. Service: The attitude was excellent, and they even proactively helped us find a place to eat.

For my trip to Changbai Mountain, I decided to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hot Spring Resort as I planned to visit the North Slope scenic area. The hotel is surrounded by an ancient forest, like a natural forest oxygen bar, and the air quality is exceptional. The hotel's overall decor features a natural, log-style design. We stayed in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony. Opening the curtains revealed a lush green forest, which I absolutely loved. The room amenities were complete, the bedding was comfortable, and the service was excellent. The front desk staff, especially one lady, spoke so incredibly gently. Hotel guests have access to a VIP channel for the scenic area and can book shuttle buses to the park, which helps avoid long queues and significantly improves efficiency for visiting Tianchi Lake.

The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the service is warm and attentive, especially the restaurant staff. The rooms are quite spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast is incredibly rich, offering a wide selection of Chinese, Western, and local specialties, all of which taste great. The only drawback is the desolate surroundings; there's basically nothing to see or do nearby, and dining out is very inconvenient, so you're limited to eating at the hotel. It's not too far from the Changbai Mountain scenic area, though.

Located at the foot of Changbai Mountain, the hotel is relatively new. We got an upgraded room, which was very spacious. The hotel offers a VIP pass service, but unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we stayed for two nights without the Heavenly Lake opening up. It's a real shame, so we'll have to come back next time.

The hotel's location is a bit remote, but that's typical for hot spring hotels. I communicated with the front desk a few days before arrival. I sent them my high-speed rail information and scheduled a pickup at Changbaishan Station. So, despite the somewhat remote location, the hotel's shuttle service was excellent. The front desk staff were also very good. When I arrived, I had intended for the front desk to book a rafting trip for me, but it turned out the hotel's contract with the rafting company had expired, so we had to sort it out ourselves. (I had inquired with the front desk a week prior, and they said it could be arranged there. I was surprised to find upon arrival that the hotel had just canceled its contract with the rafting company.) I want to be clear, I'm not blaming the hotel; it was just bad luck. I do hope the hotel can continue to assist out-of-towners in the future, as foreigners often face difficulties booking things in China without local phone numbers. I wanted to see Tianchi Lake, but it was closed all three days I was there. Rafting was also out. So, I ended up staying at the hotel. However, I enjoyed several hot spring baths, visited the gym, and the hotel can also arrange skiing for you. We didn't go skiing because we had elderly people with us. So, staying at the hotel wasn't bad at all. There are only two restaurants: a Korean restaurant and the hotel's buffet. The food was good, but the dinner shrimp seemed to be limited. I arrived at 7:30 PM and only got two shrimp, while my dad got five. Then there were none left, and the restaurant staff didn't replenish them. The room was very large and clean. I particularly liked the rooms at this hotel. The hot spring has both indoor and outdoor sections. I might return in the future.
