Wilpattu Treehouse Hotel

This accomodation deserves much better reviews. We were wowed, from the moment we arrived we were greeted by all the staff & they upgraded us. We had the top floor treehouse over looking the paddock. Very relaxed environment and non pretentious. We saw elephant and crocodile within a few minutes of arriving and it’s only a few 100m from Wilpattu National Park. Hospitality was premium they even helped us sort our food when our own arranged safari forgot. Good water temperature and pressure, clean, cold aircon. We wish this lovely team all the best

We stayed here for a day. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had traditional Srilankan dinner of string hoppers, potato curry and coconut sambol which was lip smacking. You should also try the curd and treacle dessert which not too sweet and curd was firm and creamy. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Mr Sampath was quick to alert us to a wild elephant walking past the resort as we were finishing dinner. It was simply wonderful to see the majestic creature walk past. He also kind enough to get me the recipe for the coconut sambol when I asked for it. There was some issue with water in the bathroom but was sorted out immediately. Overall a fantastic experience. I highly recommend the place for a quiet getaway.

Unforgettable Luxury in the Treetops! We had an incredible one-night stay at Wilpattu Tree House, and it completely exceeded our expectations! The wooden treehouses are beautifully crafted, spotless, and offer a luxurious level of comfort while still keeping you immersed in nature with breathtaking views. The staff here are amazingly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. One of the biggest highlights is the location—it is situated right next to the main gate of Wilpattu National Park, making safari access completely seamless and hassle-free. Everything about our stay was top-notch. Highly recommend Wilpattu Tree House to anyone visiting the area!

The staff at Wilpattu Treehouse Hotel were wonderful, friendly, and helped to make our stay fantastic. They showed us to the lake where elephants were resting, gave information on what they were doing and why. The rooms are lovely and clean, mosquito nets are provided. The view cannot be beaten. It is absolutely beautiful. The food at the hotel was wonderful also, we thoroughly enjoyed our kottu and fried rice. Thank you so much for having us!

Lovely people, arranged anything we needed. Good food. Kettle and tea in room. Go for a walk around the lake if you have time. Right by the entrance to the park, they organized our safari where we saw the big 5.

What a little paradise! We saw so many animals from our balcony. The cabin was clean, looked lovely and the bed was comfortable. We booked the safari tour from 6:00 to 18:00. They packed us a nice breakfast, lunch and plenty of water and juice. The restaurant had great food(try the katta sambol!) My compliments to the staff. They are lovely people and work hard to take care of us. Thanks for a great stay and a lovely safari!

Absolutely fantastic stay — highly recommended We stayed two nights at this tree‑house style hotel near Wilpattu and honestly, everything was perfect. The staff and service were fantastic — nothing to complain about at all. The rooms were excellent: clean, spacious, good A/C, reliable hot water, and surrounded by nature. If you’re planning to visit Wilpattu National Park, the location is unbeatable — right at the entrance. And even if you’re not going on safari, it’s a great place to relax with a tea, coffee, or even your own drinks. I actually ended up having more of a honeymoon with my Chinese wife than a wild safari, and we loved every moment. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. One thing worth mentioning: I accidentally left my Gucci belt behind and only realised after returning to Australia. I contacted the manager, and they had already found it. That level of honesty and reliability says everything about this place. My regards to the manager and the owner — you’re running a wonderful business. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Wilpattu.
