It is located in a residential area in the middle of nowhere. Technically 15 minutes walking away both from the bus stop and the ancient city, but those 15 minutes are crossing open roads or through muddy jungle paths. The hosts were nice, but every single night they had very loud guests that would sing and honk on their cars all night. On top of that, they would be noisy in the early morning too. I had to ask for the toiliteries since they were not in the room. The first night the room was clean, but on the second night, I say some ants eating a dead cockroach. It is definitely not worth the hassle no matter how cheap it may be.

We stayed here for two nights and loved it! Efficient and welcoming staff who took care of us. The room: massive two rooms with a spa like bathroom. Dressing closet was big enough for two large suitcases and all our travel supplies. Outdoor deck with loungers facing the lakes. Indoor sitting area was comfy and beautifully maintained. Natural lighting added to the serenity. Books in the room included a birders guide, a flower guide and a tree guide. Also a book with Sri Lankan cooking recipes. Nightly turn down service Fantastic barman and bar area on an open balcony. Pretty restaurant facing the pool and lakes - food was delicious - had breakfast lunch and dinner. This is a place for relaxation and birding. Loved it.

Pas de chambre prête à notre arrivée, très sale, sans eau chaude, sans toilette et sans clim le 1er jour, le 2ème jour changement de chambre mais toujours pas d'eau chaude, cafard dans la chambre, chambre hyper humide avec une odeur hyper désagréable. Lavabo qui fuit, abattement de wc cassé, peinture piquée d'humidité. J'ai des photos qui prouvent mes dires.
