Tsubakikan is a traditional ryokan and onsen with incredibly friendly and supportive staff. Travelling as a black woman alone can at sometimes daunting in Japan but this guesthouse did everything they could to make me feel welcome. I believe the food to be like Michelin dinning. Keeping with tradition but with a modern take. Even if you don’t feel like bathing the dinner and breakfast experience over looking the beautifully coiffured garden and gentle music was worth it. The house also has exhibitions of a well known Japanese ink artist and a suitable lounging area. The minerals from the hot spring left my skin smooth and refreshed. I hope to make this a yearly visit.

This family alike hot spring hotel is really nice. When we first arrived at the hotel, their staff was already waiting outside in cold weather, he passionately direct us for parking and also help alight our luggages. He also have a big smile on his face which made us feel very welcome. Their staff are also very friendly and helpful too. Their hot spring is really cosy and the outdoor one is really comfortable. There are also a lot of tourist spots can be visited too. Our room is very big and comfortable. Their staff will help set up the bed for us when we head for the dinner. Their dinner and breakfast were very tasty and fresh, feels like living in a real Japanese family.

It's really great. It's a very quaint Japanese hot spring. It's worthy of being called Asamushi Onsen. I feel refreshed after taking a bath.

It's probably about a 10-minute walk from Asamushi Onsen Station, which is not too close. facility: It's a bit old, and the air conditioner is very noisy. If you mind, please pay attention. The tatami and quilt are very nice and comfortable to sleep on. It's just that the quilt is too short, or I'm actually sleeping on a backrest. It seems like there's something in the cupboard. If you see the mats and quilts, please note that there is no bathroom. You have to take a bath in the public bathroom and take a bath in the hot spring (there are 25 rooms in the hotel, so you don’t have to worry about being dirty due to too many people) health: The white socks I wore when entering the tatami were not dirty, but the shower faucet was a bit old and had scale. Serve: The English service is provided by an old gentleman, who is very tasty and very polite. However, the room service is only for Japanese people. Breakfast can be paid at the hotel for 1,500 yen. Please be sure to wear slippers in the room. I actually wore outside clothes. Shoes, the service staff reminded me. Although I didn’t understand the meaning, the gesture should mean this. Generally speaking, if you want to experience traditional Japanese style, you can consider staying here. There are paintings everywhere in the corridor and the atmosphere is very strong.
