Smoky Bear Lodge is a renovated four unit boutique lodge directly across from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Each room is private with no shared spaces. We are located on US-321, which leads directly into downtown Gatlinburg (15-20 min). The Maddron Bald National Park trail is 1 mile from the lodge, and leads to the Appalachian Trail. The lodge is 10 minutes from Cosby Campground - the starting point for many park trails. We welcome dogs, and they MUST BE registered when booking.*Floorplan and Amenities*This unit is approximately 485 sq ft, with a luxurious Stearns & Foster king size mattress and a twin over full bunk bed. All furniture is custom made from wood. Enjoy the 75" smart HDTV which is connected to xfinity cable and has the ability to connect to any of your streaming services. There is also a desk you may use. This unit has a full bathroom including a fully enclosed glass shower and one-sink vanity. We provide all bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, tissues, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, and a hairdryer. The bathroom also includes a vanity table with a mirror and chair. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, two-slice toaster, Keurig coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, and a full size refrigerator. We provide all necessary cooking implements, including silverware, utensils, pots/pans, bowls, plates, cups, and mugs. There is a kitchen table with seating for three. *Outdoor Space*You will have a large patio with a two-seat bench in the back of the lodge. You may also access the picnic area near the maintenance cabin, walk the grounds, or use the fenced in backyard. *Location*We are located on highway US-321. This is a convenient location with direct access to Gatlinburg, national park trails, and stores. We have added resort-grade soundproofing insulation and drywall between all units. Our spacious one bedroom has all you need with a fully equipped kitchen & bath. We provide all linens and appliances as well as coffee and hot chocolate. It's the perfect space for a quiet getaway. If you want activity we are a short 1/2 hour drive from Gatlingburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, & tourism. We are only minutes from hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Cosby Entrance area). We are pet friendly. Free Apple TV, WI-FI, & Washer/dryer.We offer a one bedroom, second floor apartment with vaulted ceilings with an enclosed screened porch so privacy is no issue. The apartment is separate from the main home. Our apartment has full kitchen and bath, a king size bed, and two extra long couches. A relaxing electric fireplace was just added for the cooler weather. The apartment has a new washer, dryer, & full size water heater so there is plenty of hot water for guests. All new appliances are being installed, only the fridge is left to change. We will gladly accommodate up to 6 total guests using Coleman cots.You have a personal (free) parking space and an enclosed private porch. The entire apartment is yours and sits among a small vineyard of concord and muscadine grape vines and fig trees. The fruit is used regularly to make jams, jellies, and goodies which are available for purchase.We are only a message away (if not already on site) to help with questions or any special needs for the apartment. Please feel free to let us know how we can help make your stay better.This is a rural country environment....we do not have sidewalks and you must walk through grass. A pullout sofa bed and Coleman cots serve as sleeping arrangements for a 3rd - 6th person. Sheets, Blankets, and pillows are provided.Public transportation is non-existent in this rural area, so you will need a car. During deep winter we do receive fair amounts of snow.We love our neighborhood because it's family. I grew up on this property so it holds a special place in my heart. My Papa still lives on the property. He is very friendly and a talkative type. Papa makes all the jellies, jams, and woodcrafts you see in the apartment in his small workshop. We're all friendly and the views are great. It's quiet and safe. We've never felt more at peace than here. We love our area and how close we are to local eateries, the Foothills Parkway, and even the nearby tourism (30-45 min based on destination and traffic). This is a country mountain area and wildlife is all around.
