The hotel is 13km outside Aqaba centre and, despite advertising a shuttle bus service, offers none on weekends and only twice a day on weekdays. Information on the service was hard to obtain, involving multiple enquiries at reception. Supposedly a 5star hotel, the en-suite bathroom was tiny and smelt of sewage. The staff’s knowledge of English was generally poor - in the restaurant we had to ask five different waiters for a pot of boiled water and a teabag before someone finally understood our (not particularly odd) request.

Although the hotel is ideally situated, it was too large and impersonal for our taste. Compared to other hotel experiences, we found the service to be slow and lackluster. The food was acceptable but not exceptional. Our room had a beautiful view of the beach and sea, but the door lock didn’t function properly and we had to repeatedly ask for new keys. The pools and terrace area are lovely and it is the best beach on the Red Sea. Would be great for families with children, but very difficult for people with any mobility issues, as there are many stairs and levels. You can walk in a few minutes to the Village of Tala Bay Which has nice restaurants and an interesting marina.

It was a wonderful and comfortable experience. The food was good, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Everything was well-organized and beautiful. The place has everything you need. I highly recommend visiting Grand talabay hotel….

This hotel exceeded our expectations with service, amenities, comfort and food. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional: everything was fresh and tasty. I recommend staying there when visiting Red sea in Jordan.

The bathroom walls were shedding a white powder that got all over the counters, our stuff and the towels that were provided. They came to check and gave us new towels. We were told that we could use any pools at Tala Bay, but once we were there we were told we could only use the ones at the hotel. All the pools were closed except for the kid pool that was heated. Adult pool was closed and when we found one opened next door we were told we couldn’t use it. We were told that we could do late checkout and stay till 1 but then were asked to leave at 12 because the room was needed. The hotel wasn’t at full capacity. The extra bed we were provided with was broken and smelled like cat litter.

Nice place along the Red Sea with a great team very much customer oriented. The place is huge ! Diving centers in the very close vicinity of the hotel are very convenient. Breakfast buffet is really of good quality with both local offer and international offer. The beach is quite common if not disappointing but pretty much the same as other hotel close by. If you swim a few meters away from the beach you will access coral reefs with beautiful sceneries and fishes surrounding you. A good place to stay a few days.

We had originally booked their sister hotel but they upgraded us to this hotel, and also upgraded us to a seaview room. The check in was lovely and the common areas are beautiful. This place is huge and is basically a whole village which is nice to walk to (internally.) The 5 pools and beach are great. Our room was ok, a bit outdated. Great balcony and lots of space for your suitcase. There was a safe and a fridge which was good but lighting was a bit weird and hard to figure out. We had booked half board. Breakfast was great but due to low occupancy they were offering a set menu. It was not brilliant but it was an exception as evidenced by the good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and were grateful for the upgrade!
