A beautiful old monastery converted into very well appointed rooms with rustic charm. Luc was the perfect host and the food was excellent, especially the local beer! The surrounding area and views from the hotel are stunning. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night on the way to the south of France with my wife and baby son. The place is an old monastery with fantastic views and a lovely garden. The host is very welcoming and makes a fantastic breakfast. Can’t wait to stay here again!

It was one of the best stays in our life. The charm, atmosphere, food, decor of the room, surroundings, service and especially the host were superb. It reminded me a place I read about in a classic book and it was great to experience it I definatelly want to go there again.

I have lost count of how many times we have stayed at Hermitage St Roch - Jean Louis thinks 20 but maybe around that - our stays have quite honestly always been absolutely fantastic. The large bedrooms, of which I think there are 5 (and we have stayed in all of them at one time or another) are all of a very high standard and each has its own character - exposed beams, stonework, beautiful bathrooms. The views from the rooms are beautiful - overlooking a vast forested area. There is a very ecletic mix of art at the Hermitage. We have stayed in Summer on the way down to Provence and in Winter on the way to 3 valleys. The welcome and the ambience never changes - it is always of the highest order. The evening meal is delicious and generous and accompanied by plenty of wine. Usually, all guests are seated at a very large table in the dining room which makes for very interesting chats with fellow guests from all over Europe. The breakfast is also superb - usually brioche with a selection of homemade jams and honey, croissants etc..gallons of freshly made coffee and a fresh omelette. We are booked again for January 2023 (one night down and one night back) along with several friends who have also stayed at the Hermitage and loved it. We cannot recommend the Hermitage highly enough and it is now an essential part of any trip to and from France. We have resolved to stay longer next time we visit in the Summer.

Amazing find as a stopover on the way back to the UK. Gorgeous old hermitage in fantastic wooded surroundings. Super friendly host who made us feel very welcome. Our room was huge and luxurious and fantastic value. We booked a meal ahead of time and it was all home cooked and delicious and good value at 32 euros including wine and an aperitif. Breakfast was also generous and delicious with homemade jams and honey. We will definitely stay again and hopefully for longer!!

Wonderful experience, beautiful accommodation, exceptional food and a real caring host. Once again Tripadvisor made our 1st night in France perfect thank you to all the people who made the effort to share as we would never have known. We had driven down from Calais from the early ferry from the UK , it took circa 4 hours. We travelled with our small dog for the first time and was apprehensive about staying in hotels with her, but we felt so welcomed. Make sure you pre order some dinner and don’t leave before breakfast

Assolutamente consigliabile.
