Alladale Wilderness Reserve

I love nature and initially thought the price was high. I booked and stayed and it was more than I could imagine. The nature element blew me away. My walks, the guided hikes were outstanding and very memorable. Best place to see the Highland Coos!!! Accommodation was top notch, food was fantastic. Worth every cent, my senses were reignited here. World class place.

Alladale is even better than expected! The highlight is of course the vast and incredibly beautiful landscapes that the lodge and houses sit on but the whole experience was the highlight of our Scotland trip. We stayed in Eagle’s Crag, a 3 BR house that was rustic on the outside and cozy (but modern) on the inside. The staff brings your meals every day, which are delicious and easy to warm up, and they are also available for anything else you may need! I truly believe that Alladale is the best possible way to experience the highlands!

The entire Alladale family made our yoga retreat even more magical than the glens in which this wonderful place resides!! Mr. Stuart, Ms. Mandy, Ms Lorraine, Ms. Mel, Ryan, Fionna, Angus, Ronnie, and the rest of the team went above and beyond to take care of us all!!! I stayed in Ghillies Rest and it was just a slice of paradise. Waking up in the magical mist, listening to the birds was an amazing way to start and the end the day. The stillness of the entire area was beyond believable and restored me as much as the 2x a day yoga did!! If you do stay in GR though, note that the walk to/from the lodge is quite steep, and gravely, so having a vehicle out there is preferred. Don't be shy about asking for what you need, they will accommodate you if they can, ask for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, and be prepared to be completely spoiled before you leave. Also, for your coffee, you will be wanting the Double Cream. . . TRUST ME!!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Alladale Wilderness Reserve. The employees were delightful, helpful and accommodating. They were intent to ensure our stay was relaxing and fun. And they succeeded. They anticipated our needs and frequently gave suggestions on things we might do. They even set up a craft room where the kids could play - it was a big hit. The Lodge is gorgeous! The bed rooms are roomy, comfortable and quiet, and the public spaces are inviting. The place was great for a hide-and-seek game (adults vs kids). The views of the reserve are stunning. The roads and trails were fun to hike. We had several activities to choose from (biking, hiking, trap shooting, survival skills) and enjoyed all of them. Natasha, the chef, was excellent. She worked with us to develop each day’s menu and delivered absolutely delicious meals every day. The Alladale is very remote. This may deter many potential guests from going there, but this was one of the reasons we came: to ensure a fun, memorable time for our family with no distractions. And that’s exactly what we had.

This is one of the jewels of the world. It is set in the gorgeous highlands, among the heather, the creeks and the woodlands. It is free of any kind of urbanizations or man made obstacles. Rarely have i felt this relaxed or refreshed. The staff and caretakers of the land and hotel are amazing. The food is almost totally sourced from the estate and is presented with extraordinary regard to detail. What really makes Alladale superb is the essence behind why it exists….to become the land it once was. It simply is over the top!!

Wow - what a fantastic experience. Family group of 12 (all adults) for a special birthday celebration. Stayed in lodge house, exceptional location so peaceful. Staff were fantastic all round both the in-house team and the rangers. Food incredible from Natasha, all locally sourced mostly from the estate itself. Activities really great and knowledge of the team first class. It felt like home due to the team welcome and support. Trust me, make the booking you won’t be disappointed in any way.
