We have just come back from a week away at Zafiro Menorca in Easter Half Term via Jet2 & I honestly cannot fault this place. From the staff who always have a smile on their face to the cleanliness of the resort and the variety of entertainment for the kids, this has to be one of the best all-round holidays I have been on in a very long time and I have stayed in some of the best hotel chains in Europe. Absolute credit to the Zafiro family/owners. I can only see this getting better! I had contacted the hotel before arriving to ask about the facilities as it had been advertised as only opening on 26th April on Jet2 initially, but Jet2 then updated their website after I got in touch. I was worried nothing would be open! I also asked for a cot which was in the room on arrival. Everything was as expected. I’d say that this hotel ranked 4* no less no more. If it wanted to reach out to a 4* superior then it would need to have a bit of a refresh in terms of paint and rooms updated. Weather-wise we had 2 days of rain at the beginning and then the rest (4-5 days) were sunny with a few clouds here and there. Expected as per the weather apps and the time of year. We booked a one-bedroom pool view suite (room 3015). This was outside the bubble pool/pool bar on the ground level. The hotel is split into blocks with numbers 1-5 being the prefix for your hotel room number. The rooms are definitely the biggest and best layout I’ve come across anywhere. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. You walk in and there is a double wardrobe straight away. Toilet and shower room off the corridor, followed by a living room and a kitchen, double sliding doors separate the master bedroom which has another double wardrobe and a sliding outer door for some fresh air, and there is a balcony with a table and 3 chairs. We had very minor issues which were immediately rectified - a bulb out in the wardrobe and the safe was still closed so they sent maintenance down straight away. I also had to chase up them missing us off the cleaning rota but this was rectified immediately. Again, if you are not happy with something tell them as they do help and they never have an issue with criticism. I think to improve this particular room, the tree outside was an issue as we had leaves every day on the balcony which I had to sweep up 2-3 times and it did become a bit annoying after a few days but it was only minor. This happens because the roof above the balconies on all rooms is open in areas. This didnt help on rainy days with trying to dry clothing. We stayed on an AI basis. The variety of food was excellent, we never had any issue finding something to eat, from breakfast to evening meal. Steaks, chicken breast, chinese night, kids buffet, amazing desserts. Best place to eat for lunch is the pool bar, I have to recommend the chicken bao (x2) and chicken quesadillas (x2). My fiancee and I shared this for lunch as we found it was a nice enough portion size. Special thanks to Maria (who n

Wow, what a Hôtel team. The staff were just wonderful, particularly the AMAZING kids club and entertainment team, Pau, Sophia, Christian, Rajmond, Paula, Mariam. The bar staff (bar one who I think may be part of the furniture and has slightly lost her manners!) are just lovely- the lovely chap with glasses was so attentive and friendly. The reception staff were impeccable- particularly Nuna, and an older chap. The buffet and staff were fab, wonderful choice and delicious salads, meats, desserts etc. The kids were enamoured with all of the games and entertainment- and of course Yzzy. Memories to last a lifetime. Thank you. Camilla, Ed, Chester & Joni xxx

Let down by unhelpful reception staff and lacking a 4*’service feel. A good 3* hotel but no frills. Just on the way back from a weeks stay at Zafrino. For the price paid with Jet2 I expected more. We had a swim up room which was a godsend not having to battle with the busy main pools. One inside the hotel complex I cannot fault the food, entertainment teams, staff who work hard with a smile on their face day & night. If you have young kids then this place is set up just for them. My 7yr old loved the entertainment from 8pm to 10:30pm nightly & the hotel mascot Yzzy kept smiles on faces especially at breakfast. Location: supermarkets with v affordable floats and food goods just a minute or two away. Marina full of souvenir shops & bars a ten min walk and ciutadella a 15 min taxi filled one of the cooler days. Well worth a trip. Now for the negative; reception. You are the first point of call. All three of my interactions with him were utterly useless. When we checked in we were not told anything about the time table or schedule or how anything worked. If you are expecting help with your luggage to your room there isn’t any. Just given a key card and told to get on with it. The next time I asked for a taxi to be booked to take us into town. Was met with a smirk & it’s a busy day. We waited over an hour, right in front of them. I enquired twice as to the status of the taxi and just met with a shrug. The 3rd time I asked she just said it’s not on its way and it’s a busy time to go to centre. 3 women at reception could see us with young children. We decided then to go for a walk, within a minute a taxi came by with a green light, we flagged down and we were in Cuitadella within 15 mins. What a waste of almost 1.5hrs waiting with no help from reception staff. Then lastly on check out, same women. Just rude and abrupt. We brought our luggage up as again no help (thank goodness we were on ground floor) put it in the luggage room and told them we were going for breakfast. Pick up time between 9:30-9:40. We got back to reception at 9:34 to be told our transfer had left and to go and run after him. I mean; you saw us, our luggage was there from before 9am. We had paid up and checked out. I don’t understand, reception is your first and last impression. What a shame!

This hotel exceeded expectations in every way! We went as a family of 5. Two Grandparents, and Mother (our daughter) and two children. (Boys aged 12 and 4.) I was nervous about booking "All Inclusive" but have to say the "plus" bit made all the difference. The Buffet restaurant superb! The quality and choice of food at all times was exceptional. (In fact I would say this was the best food I have tasted served in this buffet format!) Wine was available from bottles (self serve) and cold beer on tap. Chefs were on hand at all times to cook to order. (Recommend the omelettes at breakfast and the burgers at lunchtime!) Rooms were big, comfortable and clean. Our boys found lots to do. The Mini Club is great, the older boy soon found friends and spent most of his time in the pool. (Daily organized water polo, volley ball etc.) The evening entertainment is great for families. (Izzy, of course, for the kids.) Finally the staff are fantastic! Great with the children. Reception staff exceptional. A short walk (20 mins) will take you to a beach and Marina with shops and restaurants and there are two big supermarkets just outside the hotel. Thanks you to Zafiro for making this a great holiday, full of happy memories.

Great holiday. We flew with jet2. Delayed 2 hours 30 mins on the way out and delayed 2 hours 20 mins on our returned journey. Resort as a whole is lovely, catering for everybody’s holidays requirements. Food was fine, became a bit repetitive over the week. Would be nice to have had some themed nights ( Chinese / BBQ etc). Over all well presented and in a lovely comfortable building. One downside to food presentation was there were not enough description cards explaining what each dish was. Not great when you’re a picky eater. Apartment was nice and comfortable. No mirror in the bedroom so bit of a tight squeeze when 4 people getting ready at night in the bathroom. Balcony was a real let down for us. We paid for a pool view but annoyingly we were positioned directly under a tree. It was also in the shade all day making it a redundant space. What did put a dampner on our week away was the tree constantly dropped leaves all day and night so the floor space was covered. The seats and table were covered in tree dust and even drying clothes and towels were covered the next day. The entertainment was suitable and quiz after was great. Annoyingly the evening entertainment finishes at 10.30 without any back ground music for those who wish to continue with some drinks after this. We normally like to take a couple of drinks up to the room before bed and sit out on the balcony, we were unable to do this due to the leaves and how messy this area was. So straight to bed. All Inclusive plus is confusing, we were under the impression that we would be entitled to all the top shelf spirits. this is not the case you still require to pay for top shelf spirits but they told us they have better spirits available than all the other hotels in the area. Not sure it’s worth it to be honest.

A great family break, relaxing from start to finish, excellent location to visit the port, the hotel food was easily the best I’ve had in a Spanish all inclusive. The hotel team were brilliant, keeping the hotel clean and great with the kids.. We will be back next year.

We’ve just spent a week in the Zafiro near Cala n Bosch (2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 7). We had a lovely holiday. The hotel is very clean and has brilliant facilities. We loved the splash pool and took turns at visiting the different pools. The rooms were a good size. Our room was in block to towards the back - it was at a quieter block looking out onto a green area. We only got the sun in the late afternoon which was a shame but it was private which we liked. We were half board plus and when we arrived we asked how much it would cost to upgrade to all inclusive. It was 570 euros which we felt was very expensive so we decided not to. Breakfast and dinner had a good selection though some random combinations some nights and they definitely could do with labelling more dishes as that was quite inconsistent. If you like fish there is a huge Selection of fish dishes. We weren’t fish eaters but always found something to eat. Drinks were unlimited with half Board plus including wine and beer and you could help yourself. The marina and beach are about a 15 minute walk away. There are some nice restaurants and bars there and we ate out a couple of times. We probably wouldn’t return again as it’s a bit far from the beach for us but all in all it is a lovely hotel and brilliant for young children.

We stayed in the Zafiro for 10 nights in June. We chose this hotel based on the reviews. We would usually go self catering but on this occasion chose All Inclusive as I'd never come across a hotel where every review stated how fab the food was. The hotel itself is fantastic. It's so clean and the staff were amazing. They worked really hard and were very friendly. A credit to this hotel. The pool areas were great. Although you can visit them all, we only spent time at the pirate ship pool and main pool (next to pool bar). I can't abide by these hotels were everyone is running for a sunbed at 7am. This hotel was so relaxed. You could grab a sunbed at any time of the day. The breakfast in the buffet was great. Everything you could think of for breakfast was available. We didn't visit the buffet on a lunchtime as the pool bar menu was very appealing although I've got to say we found the quality of some items very disappointing. This seemed to be the view of quite a few families that we met. The Boa buns and pizza were the best on the menu for us. My daughter did enjoy the chicken fingers and chips every day for lunch. The buffet on an evening was a little disappointing to start with but the selection of items got better during our stay and you could always throw a meal together. I would still recommend All Inclusive for treats and drinks for the kids but i'd also prepare for eating out occasionally. Overall i'd recommend this hotel to families with small children. My daughter is 4 and she had a great time.
