Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Money Really disappointing first holiday. Paid extra for a garden room but it wasn’t worth it. The walls were so thin we could hear everything from next door. Food was extremely basic, definitely not what we expected. The hotel is not disability friendly – we travelled with a child with autism and faced several challenges. One of the biggest let-downs was the lack of promised activities. Our child was excited for the bouncy castle, but we were told by entertainment staff it wasn’t available due to staffing – and to “go speak to management.” Completely unhelpful. Overall, a terrible experience. We won’t be returning. Please see photos of our room.

I don’t like starting a review in this manor. From the previous review, I am British and also was in block A. I didn’t feel like a second class citizen or discriminated against in anyway. In fact totally the opposite. The cost of our holiday wasn’t expensive and to ad on the sea view room and the A/I package cost just over £100. With this you get breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks also through the day including if you want to be Brits burgers, chips, chicken nuggets etc. the A/I drinks are served in sturdy plastic glass’s and if you want anything not on the VERY CHEAP A/I it does come with a cost and is served in real glass’s. We had several cocktails through out our week and Rose wine. I found every member of staff to be helpful and most of them understanding. I speak a good standard of Spanish but not fluent. Not once did I hear “No habla Ingles” or “ No comprendo” in fact they tried to correct my Spanish in a nice way not rude and if we still didn’t understand each other they got an other member of staff who was fluent in English to explain to us both. Ok that’s over with. We have stayed here several time between the year 2001 to 2009 but wanted to come back even tho we have read bad reviews. Block A is more expensive to stay in but gives you the best view as you can sea the whole of the beautiful bay. There was a lot of older Spanish guest in here but they had yellow wrist bands on which I think means B&B and evening meal. So when they had alcohol drinks they had to paid for them so in a real glass. We had green wrist bands for A/I. Pizza Corner is out in the patio area of Bar Bahía which served four types of pizza. Block B has more of the complex view and for a little cost a pool view is extra. The snack bar is located in the Pool Bar Piscina. This wasn’t to our taste but was always busy. The complex was fantastic for family’s but also ok for couples. Five pools including water slides, several activities through out. We used the adult pool only if we wanted to cool off. The snack van is a French looking copy of a real Citroen Van and only serves 3 types of smoothies for A/I which we found disappointing but you could buy cocktails there ant sit and sip looking over the bay. Both of the restaurants in Block A and Block B are a little impersonal IMO as to the seating but I can see why they are set out this way as the Hotel has a lot of rooms. In Block B you can watch English football and in Block A Spanish football. We only ate in Block A restaurant. We always found something to eat. As the area of Arenal d’en Castell restaurant didn’t wake up until Wednesday day we started to eat out as even tho we are A/I, we love trying new foods and places to eat. The A/I package to be fare was at a little cost and drank that twice over ( I’m a sucker for Estrella Dam lol) The bus stop if you don’t hire car is just out side the hotel. From here you can get to Mahon, Son Parc, Fornells for around £5 for two people. We found them very easy to use. We

We stayed for a week in Oct 24 half term, with our two children, 11 and 6yrs. We had realistic expectations, after reading the previous reviews, and for the price we paid, and we were not disappointed. For us, this was a cheap all inclusive family week in the October sun, with pool and beach, and it was great. The facilities for the kids are great. Very nice park, bouncy castle area, kids club, and pools. All clean and well maintained. Location was amazing. The bay is beautiful. Just a 2 minute walk down the path from the hotel to a stunning bay. We hired paddle boards and a pedalo at the beach, and the water is so clear and calm, it was great. Also lots of fish to see, when we went snorkelling. Entertainment Team we’re great with the kids, and always something fun for them to do. We had a room with a double bed and bunk beds. Wasn’t the biggest, but was as expected, and we only slept and showered/changed in there. Cleaners came everyday, made up beds, swept and mopped floor and fresh towels. We took our own pillows, after reading the previous reviews, but the pillows there were actually fine. Food was standard for all inclusive. Lots of choice. Good salads, fresh fruit, something different on the grill each day, and good paella available every day. Burger bar by the pool (standard), and a pizza place which was good. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Overall, a well maintained and clean hotel, with good facilities. We would go back!

The worst of all was the food which was generally cold, little variety, we got so fed up we had pizza and salad most nights. Staff throughout the complex were not particularly friendly. The rooms are dated and very basic. You pay extra for fridge, TV and beach towels. When checking in reception staff were only interested in getting the tourist tax upfront, we did hear some holiday makers were shouted at to pay straight away ! The evening entertainment was poor, late change of entertainer. The bar areas and in particular the self serve cold and hot drink machines were dirty, never saw these being cleaned during the day. The communal balcony in B block covered in cigarette butts and ash. On a positive note the pools are modern and clean, the playground and football pitch are a nice addition to the complex. The onsite shop is expensive but that is to be expected. It’s only a 20 minute bus ride into town which is nice to spend a day off resort. The room was cleaned every day, but not the bath and towels were not changed on two days. We were in B block which was very noisy due to old construction methods, sound transmission through the walls and ceilings and in particular the communal hallways was annoying. We were located near the reception entrance so had the pleasure of arrival and departing holidaymakers early morning !! The beach is lovely.

Massively unhappy on day 2 of holiday. The food is appalling. Vegetables either frozen or tinned. Lukewarm. Poor selection of salad and fresh fruit. Hectic and stressful in restaurants. Activities great for kids but doesn’t make up for it

I don’t usually write reviews, but this is by far the worst Hotel I have ever been to. I’d rather take my chances at a Spanish prison for a week then this (not that there’s much of a difference) First off, by the pictures it was assumed that this place would have great quality food, nice staff, good rooms; but I couldn’t be more wrong. As a pro, the hotel had a lovely location however it was unfortunate that the beach had no where to sit as suggested in the pictures. Restaurants and shops were closed but I can’t blame that on the hotel. The food here was absolutely dismal. Everything was undercooked and I mean everything. Only good thing about the food were the chips. If you wanted good food you’d have to pay, oh and everything that you think would be expected at a hotel you had to pay for. A fridge, an extra pillow, a kettle, pool towels, the tv, the safe etc. The cups at the hotel were plastic and looked like they’d only been rinsed under a tap, there were marks on them and it was just gross. All the drinks were watered down. The hot chocolate didn’t even taste like chocolate. It felt as if all the Britains or other non Spanish were crowded into a section of the building (Block B) which obviously wasn’t being looked after. Based on my personal experience (although many can disagree) the Staff seemed to keep to themselves and from when I spoke to them seemed quite nice. The rooms were disappointing, as we thought that we would have enough room to walk around in. Incredibly cramped, especially my room as we were put next to the cleaners. The walls were extremely thin, we heard domestic violence multiple times, yelling and running around the hallways. The balcony had 2 singular chairs whilst others had tables. It seemed like they just rushed to find available space. Many fights occurred. We witnessed about 2 or 3 and a few arguments. It seemed like Block A (which is where most the Spanish were) seemed to be a lot more calmer and well looked after. Won’t be coming back. Honestly I wouldn’t even bother with this hotel, just look somewhere else.

Went with my daughter for 7 nights. During that time we witnessed 3 fights and a number of arguments. As has been previously mentioned, we were all herded into one block. However given the violent nature of some it was no wonder they did (previous experience?). We did eventually move from the Block B pool to Block A and there was a slight but very obvious difference in style and ambience. The hotel room was tiny but functional. Although i was aware it was a family hotel, I wasn't expecting the play area to extend to the corridors outside the rooms at gone 11 at night. The rooms were all tile so you could hear everything going on in other rooms within a 50 foot radius. The all inclusive food was pretty dire. The cheeseburger looked so depressed it was begging me to put it out of its misery. Everything needed to be paid extra for; Kettle in room. Extra. TV. Extra. Decent pillow. Extra. I will not be returning and would not recommend this hotel at all. I've spent time in some challenging environments around the world and this ranks as one of the hardest!

- All staff are lovely and even offered us help with our cases on arrival which was nice, thank you. The transfers from the airport were really fluid which was helpful when you have young children. - Accommodation - this was really deflating, it’s really poor and disappointing for the money, it’s extremely dated and certain elements are unsafe. The Mixer shower tap had no hot or cold sign, it either went too hot or cold. This is Unsafe for children. The family rooms are so so small, do not be fooled by travel the agents photos. The bathroom is so small whilst you’re on the toilet your legs are touching the bidet. The bunk bed was rusty with a swinging ladder again totally unsafe for young children. - The food is ok, pizza bar and burger bar are great for children and great selection of fruit, the staff keep the buffet well replenished and fresh meet or fish is cooked daily. It does get really busy at times so go early if you don’t like the hustle - The alcohol within the all inclusive is not great but I guess it is what you would expect in a 3* hotel, you can buy cocktails which are really lovely and worth the treat - Outdoors is great- plenty pools, splash play, slides and a short walk down to the absolutely beautiful beach (it is steep) not ideal if you have a disability but you will be ok with a pram, the beach is really beautiful which is the hotels saving grace, the views are stunning, I’d recommend booking a sea view if you can afford it. The complex also has a fantastic children’s park. - Evening Entertainment is ok and there are lots of activity’s you can be involved in throughout the day. Again the entertainment area gets really busy at night and there is a lot of hustle over chairs and tables. - There are Plenty restaurants along the beach front if you fancy an evening out and a couple of supermarkets just a short walk from the hotel - Car rental is available I would visit the area again but sadly not sure about the hotel due to accommodation as I don’t feel the accommodation itself even warrants a 3* “superior” the accommodation simply is not comparable to the exterior of the complex. The hotel was overwhelmingly busy and it simple wasn’t our cup of tea.

Just home after a week at Aguamarina and have to say we had a brilliant time. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels left, rooms are small but sure you're only in the room for a shower and sleep. Staff were friendly, we never came across any staff unfriendly in all areas.. The food. The Burger bar was a hit for our two children, and food was grand. The bar area was always clean and the All Inclusive option's for beers, wines and spirits was good and even soft drinks had a good variety. The main restaurant always had something for everyone. We had no issues with the food, yes it can get repetitive but sure that's All Inclusive. Staff worked very hard cleaning and clearing tables. Food was replenished as soon as running low. The pools were all great, but children's pools were very cold, we spent our time at block B pool mostly and after a go on the slides or a paddle in the children's pools the main pool was alot warmer. No inflatables allowed in the pool, but we didn't mind there was alot of people in the pool at times so there would have been no room for them. Staff did dancing, water polo and water carpet in the pool as well. Pool areas are cleaned daily and left clean and ready for each day. Entertainment in the hotel is non stop from morning to night for the children and adults. The team work so hard and do a great job. There's bouncy castle areas for the children to play away in by the park and crazy golf area. Water polo was always a good laugh for the adults. We were only disappointed we missed the foam party and the schedule changed during our week. There's not alot in the area around the hotel, a supermarket across the street and on up the street there is a gift shop and on past that a place great for the family called Backgammon with a gift shop beside it also., Further up past there is a waterpark also. If your looking loads of shops/bars etc this is not the place for you. You also have the beautiful beach at the side of the hotel where you can hire beds, pedalos and paddle boards, you can walk alone to a few more shops, restaurant and tobacco shop also on the beach path. The beach is worth a visit it's clean and the waters lovely. We did go to Mahon a day and it was nothing special, we went to market day and it was a nightmare trying to get on the bus due to queues and the bus already full when it arrives. Up the street by the gift shop/Lacoste shop sign there's a lady who braids hairs also, mostly there from morning to tea time. We would visit this hotel again for sure. It was an amazing week and we met the nicest of people along the way. Usually we do enjoy walking along a ***** of shops/bars/restaurants but we were very content with the hotel and all it offers
