Super friendly and welcoming staff, we were being treated like their family. Historical hotel but you can definitely see the owner's effort in keeping it modernised.
Yummy soba noodle too! Definitely recommend.

We chose this ryokan for its proximity to Asahikawa Zoo. With a rental car, its location was convenient. The room featured traditional tatami mats and futons for our family of four. The highlight was the in-house ‘onsen’ bath, which we enjoyed without any additional fees. The attentive staff surprised us by clearing the snow off our car after a heavy snowstorm. Senshoen gets my highest recommendation for its service, comfort, and lovely garden.

Unexpectedly, there was no shower in the room, only hot springs for bathing. Breakfast and dinner were at the soba restaurant on the first floor. After dinner, I was reeking of cooking fumes. The surroundings were rather desolate.

Unlike a business hotel, this old-fashioned hot spring inn is located on a hill away from the city center, and we were very satisfied with its location, facilities, and the simple service of the staff.

Day-trip bathing. It is mainly for overnight guests. There are no locks on the shoeboxes or lockers. The bath area is small. Is there a washing area for 8 people? The baths are a little hot in the main bath and the open-air bath, and the bubble bath is lukewarm. The rock bath has a nice atmosphere. It is not large, but there were quite a lot of people visiting. I would like to go again.
