Hotel Grandspa Avenue ★★

📍 Amagi 1677-2, Asakura

"The staff were very polite and attentive, from greeting guests to providing excellent service. The hot springs and bathhouse were very clean, and I enjoyed a refreshing bath the next morning. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and overall I was very satisfied."

📍 20 Hakishiwa, Asakura

"Although it takes about an hour to drive here, many Hong Kong people choose this place. Most of the rooms are large and new, the breakfast and evening food are also very good, and the dinner style changes every day. It is recommended to stay for more than two days to visit the nearby attractions in Asakura, Hita and Yame City. There are many foreign employees working in the hotel, but their service attitude is mixed. There is a hot spring bath that can be rented for 2000 yen per time, and the environment is beautiful. Although there is no private bath, overall the cost performance is very high. There are baby seats and baby play areas, as well as children's and baby bathrobes for rent, which are very suitable for families traveling with children."

Amagi Kankou Hotel Amagikan

Amagi Kankou Hotel Amagikan ★★★

📍 2091 Amagi, Asakura

"In short: I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're traveling. Even if you're just passing through, I wouldn't recommend it! The room didn't have a toilet or shower; you had to use a public toilet and shower. And there was only cold water. The soundproofing was terrible; I heard other people going to the bathroom multiple times in the middle of the night. What's called a hotel is actually just a hotel section of a public bathhouse, open to the public. I arrived very late and there was practically no service, but Japanese people are generally very friendly. Because I was so dissatisfied with the hotel facilities, I got up at 6 am the next day and left. Free parking. I'll say it again: I don't recommend staying here!"

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★
"This hotel, a fusion of traditional Japanese style and garden design, boasts stunningly beautiful dining areas and landscaped gardens. It's conveniently located just minutes' walk from the Akizuki Castle Ruins. The hotel offers private parking, so you don't have to squeeze with other guests during peak season. The staff all speak basic English, so communication was no problem. Our butler, Mr. Sakurai, was incredibly attentive and warm – a perfect 100! We were all very reluctant to leave him. The only issue was that our room type seemed to lack privacy; we had to go through a foyer to reach the bathroom and shower, even though the bottom of the foyer glass was transparent. There wasn't much space near the sink for personal toiletries, which was a minor inconvenience. There were also quite a few flying insects in the garden, which could be improved. Overall, however, it was the best hotel choice near the Akizuki Castle Ruins during our trip, and I highly recommend it!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this establishment. Having our own Hansen in our room was a true luxury! And with natural spring water, no less. Excellent. The lady who greeted us was extremely helpful and kind, and she recommended some excellent places to visit. We highly recommend it."

Hotel Parens Onoya ★★★
"I stayed at this hotel because there was a plan that you can upgrade if you post on SNS. It seems to have been renovated, so it may be a limited-time service. The exterior of the hotel looks like an old hotel, which makes me a little uneasy, but when I went inside, it was probably due to the renovation, and my worries were unfounded. There was a lounge with a view of the quaint Japanese garden, and you walked through the Japanese garden to the open-air bath and the dining hall (a place with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. They prepared a separate room for my pregnant wife). I upgraded to a Japanese-Western room with a panoramic bath for free, and the view was great. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there were no small children, it was not noisy, and the signs were only in Japanese, so I did not see a single foreigner. It was a great place to spend a quiet and relaxing time. I was a little worried about the cleaning staff coming in while I was bathing in the large public bath (the tatami bath had been renovated and was very clean) (I was a man, and the cleaning staff was an older woman), but I was able to spend the rest of the time without any particular issues. I would like to stay at this hotel again (especially the top floor)."

"Pros **The hot springs are open 24 hours and can be switched between men's and women's sections.** **One side features a jungle bath, while the other has an open-air bath.** **I was satisfied with the course meal served.** **Cons** **Since it is an older building, there is some noise.** **Because many local families visit, if there are children in the next room, the thumping sound from the floor echoes into my room.** **There is nothing nearby, so I recommend buying any shopping before entering.** **Note that there are snacks for gifts and vending machines inside.**"

"An excellent choice for family trips, especially if you are traveling with elderly relatives. The layout is very accessible and spacious, making it easy to move around with a wheelchair or walking aid. It made our trip so much more relaxing to know the space was fully accommodating. Highly recommended!"

"The facility is a building with a strong sense of history, and my stay had a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. I could feel the effort put into making sure guests enjoyed their stay. The staff were all very warm and welcoming, making for a wonderful vacation. The hot spring water is lukewarm."
