Oh-so clean, comfortable, cosy and characterful – Sykes House has a peaceful and relaxing feel to it. Our room (two) was spacious and an elegant fusion of antique and modern styles. Hosts Alison and Michael are friendly, welcoming and super-organised. Alison does a great breakfast with lots of options (don't miss the overnight oats to start) and everything is well-presented and appetising. Sykes House is ideally located for exploring much of the Dales and is a lovely base to come back to, before you visit one of the local pubs for an evening meal. We loved both our visits and hope to return again and again.

Really nice B and B with a great position in the middle of a typical Dales village. Really nice rooms- we had No.2 with use of No.1 as an extra. Nice breakfasts to set you up for the day. Mike and Alison very friendly and will help with places to visit etc. We managed to park ok all the time we were there ( 7 days).

Spotlessly clean. A neat B+B in the heart of the pretty village of Askrigg. The breakfast was the standard cooked breakfast but was well cooked and well presented. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Wifi was excellent too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation

A pre-Christmas stay in this cosy, welcoming, friendly b&b in the centre of Askrigg. We took the lovely room at the front, with spectacular views over the square and the church, plus the adjoining snug sitting-room/kitchen. The village Christmas tree and the decorated trees in the churchyard make it especially beautiful at this time of year. Alison’s breakfasts are generous and delicious and served with a smile and friendly chat. We’ll be back to this very special place in the spring.

This is a wonderful B&B in the heart of a lovely Dales village with an adjoining village shop, and Alison and Michael were the most welcoming of hosts. We stayed in room 3 which was really spacious and spotlessly clean. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room as would be expected but the home made biscuits were a lovely extra touch and delicious. The cooked breakfast was plentiful with local produce served where possible, and there was plenty of choice available (which you select from a list the evening before so it is freshly cooked for you the next day). It’s a great base from which to explore everything the beautiful Yorkshire Dales has to offer, and with three village pubs all serving food evening meals are easily taken care of with no driving involved. There is sufficient on street parking available and we were able to park right outside the front door on both evenings. We recommend 100% and are really looking forward to a return visit.
