Rooms are small, but but nicely appointed, with plenty of closet space. The location couldn’t be better, a short walk to the Ajax base, and nice common areas (though the roof /pool hot tub was a disappointment ), valet park wing was quite convenient and while interaction with the staff was limited, they were all helpful.

Wonderful place, really went out of their way to make sure the experience is good. Rooms were nice and clean and restaurant and food was very good. They have a very good buffet for breakfast and a great rooftop pool. They have a nice fitness area and the airport transportation and town transportation was a big help.

I have stayed at many W hotels and they never seem to disappoint, for sure they delivered at the W in Aspen. The hotel offers completely rides to/from the airport and throughout town in a few nice BMW X5’s. We never had to wait long for a ride anywhere. The hotel was over sold and we tried to get an upgrade with no luck and we’re concerned about the roll from a few other reviews. They were wrong, we had the room with 2 queens and one was elevated. This set up made the roll feel more spacious. The room itself had modern decor, plenty of storage in the closets and the signature heavenly W beds. There is a nice Lavazza coffee machine in the closet and they have a small refrigerator if you need it. Some reviews complained of lack of space, I was traveling with a friend and we had plenty of room for all of our stuff. They have a DJ every afternoon in the bar on the second floor. This place was not busy during the week, it seems like only on Fridays and Saturday’s, but on those days it was a good crowd for Apres ski. We did eat here and the burger and Mahi was solid. They also have a good breakfast. On the roof they have a good sized hot tub and heated pool. There is a heated towel cabinet but no where to really put your stuff so you have to run from the bar where you dropped your stuff to the tub. The tub faces the mountains and you get a great view on a clear night. The bar is closed in the winter but I would suspect it’s a cool spot in the warmer months. The location is also great. If your skiing Ajax there is a small path you can take and walk right to the gondola. Across the street there is a market and pharmacy, you can also walk just about anywhere from here. The W delivers in all the right places! Next time I’m in Aspen I will be returning

This hotel tries to be hip and modern at the expense of practicality. Our room was a 2 bed queen with the beds configured in a bunk bed type arrangement. The TV was on a pole at the end of one of the beds. This arrangement put one person next to the wall, and when they needed out of bed, they had to crawl over the other person. Anyone with claustrophobia would be very stressed in this situation. I’m sure the poor housekeeping staff hates this arrangement. The lights in the room, again while trying to be cutting edge, were not user friendly. The lounge/restaurant area was nice, but apparently they couldn’t decide if it should be a club or a restaurant/bar. There was a dj that arrived around 5:00 p.m. and began playing very, very loud music until maybe 7:00-8:00. There is not a dance floor. This was very confusing and not a relaxing, comfortable vibe at all. Why wasn’t the dj there at 10:00 p.m. rather than late afternoon? The hot tub/pool area is on the roof and nice very. The workout facility was also very nice. The staff was also nice and friendly. All in all I would not recommend this property. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing stay, this is not your place.

My recent six-night stay at the W Aspen, made possible through points and shared with friends, left me with mixed feelings that reflect the highs and lows of this upscale establishment. Upon arrival, the gesture of offering prosecco at the check-in desk was a pleasant touch, although I would have preferred it served in a glass rather than a plastic cup. Despite encountering some challenges with my reservations due to the hotel's stringent cancellation policy, the staff efficiently accommodated my requests, allowing me to switch to a more desirable room on a higher floor after the initial night. As an Ambassador elite member, I appreciated the personalized attention extended to me, including the opportunity to tour alternative rooms and select one that better suited my preferences. The breakfast buffet, a highlight for elite members, was truly delightful, boasting a diverse selection of fresh and savory options that catered to discerning tastes. Throughout my stay, the housekeeping and turndown services were consistently impeccable, complemented by thoughtful amenities like quality bath products and indulgent chocolates. The hotel's strategic location, while not offering ski-out convenience, proved convenient for accessing Aspen's attractions. I was particularly impressed by the hotel's responsiveness to my needs after sustaining an injury while skiing, promptly providing a wheelchair for my comfort and convenience. Moreover, overhearing the hotel's general manager express his vision for elevating the guest experience underscored the team's commitment to excellence and community engagement. However, my overall impression was tempered by a few notable shortcomings. The malfunctioning hot tub throughout my stay was disappointing, and hearing about welcome amenities received by other guests but not extended to me felt like a missed opportunity to enhance my experience. Furthermore, the lack of privacy in the first-floor rooms, especially considering the premium price point, is a notable concern that warrants attention. The resort fee, coupled with parking charges, felt disproportionately high given the value provided. Despite these drawbacks, I remain open to revisiting the W Aspen in the future, acknowledging the luxury it offers amidst areas ripe for improvement. Ultimately, my stay was characterized by both positive and negative experiences, highlighting the hotel's potential for delivering a truly exceptional guest experience.

Recent stay in Aspen at the W and it was underwhelming. I have stayed here several times over the years. Location is great. People were friendly and helpful but the vibe has lost its luster. Not exactly alot of choices as a Bonvoy member so it is what it is. The roof was empty all three days (and nights) and hot tub was broken. Not even a bartender. Total disappointment on the vibe. Breakfast was underwhelming as is the entire property now. Way over priced for what you get . Even for Aspen. They were on time to pick us up at the airport and its a 10 min ride to the hotel. Transportation was good back snd forth to dinners. Concierge was unable to make any reservations for us for dinner as all the hot spots were “unavailable” ….. Amex took care of it though. It seems they are resting on the W name, location, and reputation. It needs a reno and to not have the roof and lobby/ fire pit going strong fir Apres ski’ was a huge disappointment.

Stayed here after the St. Regis which is the sister property and it was very cool and quite the scene. From the colorful lobby ( with wonderful personalities and attentive ladies) to the ponyboy bar.. it was also where Aspen Pride weekend was hosted but it was still a great and not too wild as we imagined. The staff was very attentive and breakfast and lunch food was great. Rooms were comfortable and just as colorful. If you have a chance to tour the residences and property, I highly recommend. Loved seeing the renovated property and really recommend staying here. Highly recommend if you like the lively scene. They also have a chauffeur available to take you to town and you can also rent BMWs as well.

A group of 11 of us stayed at the W Aspen early August to celebrate a 30th birthday and bachelorette. Diego and his team took our trip to the next level. From top notch communication, to in-room extras, to the most special touches with a build-your-own rooftop spritz bar and so much more. Our trip wouldn’t have been as memorable if he wasn’t involved. I can’t recommend this hotel or Diego enough!!!!
