"We had a lovely stay at the Domaine de Montecristo. We stayed as part of a road trip. Hotel is ideally located for a stop over. Very easily accessible and has excellent parking. Quite interesting layout with the rooms being individual cabins but the cabins are lovely. Spacious, air conditioned and well equipped. Lovely bar area for drinks outside by the Seine and a fantastic restaurant serving a really great dinner and a lovely breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it"

"We had email exchanges with La Maison De Rhodes before our visit so we were already confident that this was a well-run hotel, but the reality was so much more. Firstly, inside and outside it is stunning - the old stone and wood frontage of the property and wrought ironwork lead you to a wood beamed interior, exposed brickwork, lots of dried flowers and plump sofas. Our room was stunning with ceiling beams, white linen and stone floors and a very comfortable bed. The location was ideal, down a side street by the Cathedral. The staff were friendly and very helpful, providing restaurant recommendations, arranging taxis etc We had a really lovely 3 days in Troyes and La Maison de Rhodes was a huge part of that."

"Nice old mill building with water running below the restaurant/reception floor. Food nice, rooms basic but clean. Good private parking and a fairly decent breakfast. The only downside was communication I wish I’d payed more attention in French lessons as it was difficult conversing with staff but that aside an all round decent place to visit."

"Room was fine. Only asked for a shower but no shower in the bath. It turned out to be a shower in a bath. We are both 80 years old. Then a bath in a shower is not possible. Only heard at the last minute that reception was closed on Sunday afternoon but that a caretaker would be present. Not the case. Had to call. Kitchen was closed on Sunday. Room was fine and breakfast was very good, especially by French standards."

"Visit started well. We were given a large , conformable, if rather old fashioned and dark, draped room, and managed to get a swim in the large, very clean outdoor pool over the rood before the sun set. It was a busy Saturday- night , and the food was served onside in the rather crowded courtyard. Service was slow, and lighting on tables was poor so it was difficult to see the food. I asked for a medium steak, and it was served Blue!- Instead of preparing another , the steak was simply returned to the grill and cooked some more! Not really acceptable in my eyes! Serving staff were overwhelmed and courses took a while to arrive . Breakfast was Ok. Restaurant service seemed overwhelmed.Staff did their best, but courses were delayed. Not sure we would return?"
