Chateau de Moison, Domaine Eco Nature

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Chateau de Moison! It's a gorgeous property and well-maintained with a lot of historic charm. Be sure to screenshot his directions, our GPS stopped working in this lovely but remote location. We stayed in the blue suite which is on the top floor and had views all around the chateau - it's also a massive room! The bathroom was modern and everything very clean. We opted for happy hour (simply gets added to your bill, easy) in their beautifully decorated living room and enjoyed hearing stories from Bruno, who is a local historian and very knowledgeable about the region and wine. He gives a nice toast to how Americans have "saved the French!" more than one time. We had dinner at Bruno and Mary Ann's table both nights and it was delicious!! She cooks fresh from their garden and easily accommodated my pescatarian palate. They do not join you for dinner. Breakfast in the morning was coffee and freshly baked breads from the local bakery, scrumptious! It's about a 30 minute drive to a restaurant so be prepared to either eat at the chateau or build in driving time. We picked this spot to spend a whole day wine tasting and learning about the many surrounding vineyards in the Loire Valley and Sancerre region with Laure Juvet who is an excellent wine tour guide with Vini Tour (in English of course) - LOVED her and highly recommend this!! / she picked us up/dropped us off at the Chateau and is friendly with Bruno. We brought along a wine suitcase and brought a case of our dozen favorites home. Stay here for a night or several days, and enjoy this authentic French chateau! My wife, our adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of bon vivant, owner and local historian Bruno ! His knowledge of the local wineries and history is amazing and the Chateau is so beautiful with quality rooms and bedding. We enjoyed a couple of delicious meals which were served with a great selection of local wines and unbelievable variety of cheese. Totally recommended !

We have just returned from a beautiful stay at Château de Moison. Where to start… the Château is an amazing haven with very welcoming hosts, Bruno and Mary Anne. Our room (the red room) is a very well appointed pretty room with a very comfortable bed but what will stay with me are the peaceful views and sounds from the bird song and brook running thru the garden and the views of the garden. We greatly enjoyed a beautiful dinner made by Mary Anne served outside under the stars with wines paired by Bruno from the local vineyards. (and homemade jams of an array of varieties at breakfast & specially created linden ice cream - thank you Mary Anne and Bruno for your talents) A really special place to stay and enjoy.
