The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to shopping areas, and there are many beautiful restaurants around the harbor. The hotel's own restaurant is also quite good and worth trying. The concierge was very helpful, assisting us with our luggage and putting it in the trunk. The room provided disposable toiletries and even children's slippers. The bedding was very comfortable, the air conditioning was incredibly quiet, and the shower had a spacious cabin and a comfortable showerhead. Breakfast is à la carte, like a brunch style, with a self-service spread of bread, cold cuts, and fruit. It’s definitely worth a stay.

Whenever my husband and I travel, we usually book hotels under the InterContinental or Hilton brands. This time, we chose the InterContinental Auckland, located right in the city center. The front desk staff were very friendly, but as soon as we entered the room and looked for slippers, we found a smelly sock left behind by a previous guest in the cabinet. I've never encountered such an outrageous hygiene issue at any other hotel. I immediately called the front desk after discovering it. Later, a lady, who seemed to be a supervisor, came to our room. She didn't offer any compensation, only suggesting that they could re-clean the room or move us to a similar one. So, we moved to an equivalent room. However, I feel it's completely unacceptable for a high-end hotel like this to have such a hygiene problem, and I didn't receive any compensation. It really soured our vacation mood. I'm truly shocked once again by the hygiene control loopholes at InterContinental hotels.

Extremely clean and tidy, with fantastic, stunning views. The breakfast was excellent, both beautiful and delicious 😋. The service was thoughtful and attentive. If I come back to New Zealand, I'll definitely stay here again. The sea view from my room was so beautiful! 😍

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and is centrally located, offering stunning bay views from the rooms. It's very convenient to walk to Queen Street, with plenty of great food options nearby. Fisherman's Wharf, where you can enjoy seafood, is also just a short walk across the suspension bridge.

The room was great, but breakfast was very underwhelming. It wasn't a buffet; you had to order a main dish, and then other items were self-service, which felt a bit strange. For an InterContinental hotel, this service felt a bit below standard. What's more, the children's meals were quite different from the adults'.

We booked a room with two double beds, which was enough for two adults and two children, though the room wasn't particularly spacious. The hotel is right across from the ferry terminal and conveniently located near the subway. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was also good, more convenient than eating out, and similarly priced. The only downside is that parking probably isn't very convenient. The service was standard.

As a luxury hotel in Auckland, the service was quite good. They provide cups in the room, and there's a water dispenser conveniently located in the hallway. However, despite the sign indicating Chinese-speaking staff, I didn't see any; everyone at the front desk only spoke English. Since my flight was late the next day, I negotiated a 1-hour late check-out with the hotel, which was quite accommodating. There's a fantastic steakhouse right across the street that I highly recommend trying. The location is excellent; you can just walk downstairs and catch a ferry to Devonport from across the road. My only slight complaint is the number of barefoot homeless people downstairs, which is a bit off-putting for such a central location. The bedding was excellent, and the facilities were very good.

Utterly disappointed! Intercontinental Auckland, safety issues + discriminatory service – a complete letdown. This was an absolutely terrible stay, completely unworthy of a five-star hotel. I was traveling with my family to New Zealand, expecting a comfortable stay, but this hotel completely ruined it. In particular, the front desk staff member named Majesty had an extremely poor and discriminatory attitude. ⚠️ Most Serious Issue: Unauthorized Entry by a Stranger Between 5:50 PM and 6:10 PM, while we were out of the room, a stranger managed to use a card key to enter our room. This person claimed to be a staff member delivering chocolates, whom I encountered. However, front desk staff Majesty later informed us that because our membership tier was not high enough, we were "unworthy" of receiving chocolates, so they took them back. This isn't about the chocolates at all; it's a serious security breach! My question is: How can someone freely enter my room without my knowledge or permission? If we had lost something or if our personal safety had been threatened at that time, would the hotel be able to take responsibility? 🛏️ Extremely Poor Hygiene & Phone Unanswered for an Hour After getting our room keys and entering, we found noticeable stains on the bedsheets and duvet covers in both rooms, which was disgusting. I immediately called the front desk and housekeeping, but no one answered for an entire hour, not even the emergency line. Afterwards, Majesty even casually stated that the phone being unanswered for an hour was "normal" and told us to keep waiting. Is this the "normal" standard for your five-star hotel? 🤬 Abysmal Attitude: Front Desk Staff Majesty Was Abusive and Discriminatory When checking in, I had clearly booked two adjoining twin rooms, but she only gave us one twin and one king room, making it impossible for our family to stay together. When I tried to communicate and asked for a correction, she showed no willingness to resolve the issue and instead kept arguing with us. For every sentence I spoke, she retorted with ten, her tone dismissive and full of discrimination. Is this how a service industry employee should behave? This is clearly driving customers away! I emailed the hotel to complain about all the issues mentioned above, but I have not received a single apology to this day. Summary: This is a "five-star" hotel that cannot even guarantee basic safety, hygiene, and service. If you care about your and your family's travel safety and experience, please definitely avoid this Intercontinental Auckland hotel! Especially the front desk staff named Majesty; her attitude will absolutely make you regret choosing this place.

The hotel is relatively new and clean. However, the facilities and standards are comparable to a 200-300 RMB boutique hotel in China. The best hotel in all of Auckland is the Park Hyatt, but even that would be considered two等级 lower compared to hotels in China. Auckland's Park Hyatt is roughly on par with a Hilton Garden Inn in China.
