Great place to stay, the staff were amazing and super accommodating the room is great and clean and the location it perfect. The only thing is it doesn't have much sound proofing so bring earplugs just in case.

You can see the Sky Tower from the room. My room, 117, had a strong musty smell. The front desk staff and most of the guests were Indian. The communal kitchen was small, and every night there were Indian aunties cooking curry. Luckily, the room had a microwave and a fridge. There's a 'green supermarket' (presumably an organic or fresh food store) nearby, but the hotel is on a steep hill, so walking back felt like climbing a mountain. Plus, the fruit falling from the trees outside the hotel entrance smelled really bad! And the bathroom had no shelves, so I had to put the shower gel on the floor – so inconvenient!

Feel like living in a basement, high ceiling, long hallway, window high up.... Got machine/air-con noise, even with the window closed. Walkable distance to train station, but have to walk up hill.

Staying here again after a year, it feels just as familiar and pleasant as before. It's truly a great value-for-money option in Auckland city center. You can walk to the supermarket in less than ten minutes, enjoy the vibrant bar street by the sea, or easily take a ferry from the pier to Devonport for stunning views. Highly recommended.

Absolutely disgusting. The room smelled like urine and the bed had fleas. On top of the terrible hygiene, the staff was incredibly unreasonable and difficult to deal with. I have never encountered such poor service and such a filthy environment. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Lots of people were using the shared kitchen, and the smell of curry was super strong 🤣 lol. Considering the value for money, the location is great, and I'd recommend it.

I stayed at Gamma with my family. The room had all of the pictured amenities, but was more on the no-frills side. It would have been helpful to have a luggage rack, and maybe a few clothes hangers. But the location is excellent (just be ready to walk up a slight hill!), and the price was very reasonable. We did not eat there, but there was a nice-looking breakfast available for an extra cost.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Daily towel change. Tea set, fridge, and air conditioning available. Decent shower. Everything would have been perfect, especially considering the low price, but the presence of cockroaches was a horrible surprise. Judging by the smell of insect repellent, the staff tries to combat them, but unfortunately, these measures are insufficient.
