Corick House Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I had booked and key word, PRE-PAID to go for afternoon tea at Corrick House for my birthday. I went to the desk with my booking confirmation, and what appeared to be the manager (who had awful manners and a slight American sounding accent) was extremely rude and adamant that I had not booked anything. She was extremely dismissive and condescending towards me, which I am suspicious was to do with my age (I look quite young, it was my 21st birthday). Because I remained adamant, however, she eventually agreed to have a further look at the issue and told us to sit on a sofa. Maybe around 10 minutes later, she came over. But she was not looking at me when she was explaining the issue, only looking at my older sisters and mother, despite the fact that I was the one who had made the booking, and was the one talking to her beforehand (again, I think this was because of my age but that is just a suspicion). She only started looking at me when I leaned towards her and started starring her out. Apparently the staff member that was putting my booking through the system had not put it through the system properly. She then offered us lunch instead. But the way she spoke was out of order. I’ve worked in hospitality myself for over a year, and that is not how you speak to customers, especially when they have already paid to be at your establishment. No excuses, no matter how busy it is or how young I look. Very disappointing."

"Flavoursome meal although staff were creative with bill, steak+chips is an extra £6 for chips, chicken curry is +£3 for chicken, bottled tap water is £3.50 per bottle and the early bird special has to be paid for before 6:00 for the £30 price, regardless of what staff tell you"

"Our 1st time staying here. Reception area not at all welcoming. All sofas and particularly the black and white striped armchairs very grubby and just wouldn’t sit on them Room basic but very clean Needed to get more pillows ( not a problem following a phone with the lovely receptionist on duty and indeed the household staff) Mattress on the bed not the most comfortable . We had a beautiful treatment each in the spa, lovely area and great pool and gym facilities. Dined in the Bistro, exceptionally great value for money and fantastic food, only issue we had ( had reserved table on line) was there were 4 waitresses at the check in who proceeded to carry on having third own personal conversation in front of us until I asked politely could we be taken to our table. To be honest the only real employee who was doing her job above and beyond was the restaurant manager"

"Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights bed and breakfast.we were greeted by a lovely lady who checked us in . We got to our room and it was excellent. They had provided tea and coffee facilities along with biscuits and bottles of water. In the bathroom were 2 bathrobes ..there was an iron and ironing board and a very large standing fan.. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over the bath .. The staff here are all so nice and very professional and nothing is too much trouble..there is a restaurant with a bar which I would recommend to book If you wish to eat an evening meal as it can get very busy..the food is superb and is served piping hot in a very quick time. The breakfast is cooked and continental and there is a great choice for all walks of life. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a few days away..we will definitely be back ."
