Staybridge Suites AUSTIN SOUTH INTERSTATE HWY 35 by IHG

I came here with an open mind and was hoping to have a good visit in Austin. My trip was somewhat ruined by this terrible hotel. Couldn't get a good shower or a good night's sleep here. Please choose a different hotel, there are at least 2 others within walking distance of this one. -Dismal water pressure and hard water makes the shower basically unusable. Worse than any hotel I have ever seen. Had to abandon my attempt at a shower, was afraid to use soap that couldn't be washed off. And the floor of the shower was dangerously slippery, possibly because the housekeeper's cleaning product couldn't be completely washed away due to the low water pressure and hard water. -Woke up to a giant centipede in the toilet (???) -The television and remote looked brand new but worked infuriatingly slow, changing the channel took forever and it would often skip over multiple channels. -VERY noisy building, I could hear every step that my upstairs neighbor took, ceiling creaking and groaning, much like staying in a junky apartment complex with bad neighbors. -Breakfast was dismal and embarrassing. -There was a weird industrial smell throughout the building and in the elevators. -Thermostat did not work properly, hard to set temp/fan and get it to stay, looks like the batteries died weeks ago. -I visited in October and there was junky plastic Halloween stuff everywhere, including that nasty fake spider web stuff.

Not a good hotel for a single traveler or a traveler who needs rest. Consistent noise from other guests left me sleepless many nights. 4 to be exact. I had to cancel my remainder trip and move elsewhere. Hotel staff was nice and understanding but don’t make this mistake. Seems like a party hotel.

Not a bad hotel and not a bad stay. I had a suit but I do wish the doors from each rooms can be completely closed. Got to have my privacy. Room was kept cool but would like to see an upgraded ventilation or ac. I paid a great price and I was ok 👍.

I would love to give a better review, but the office was not helpful, nor have they been responsive since. I booked a 2 night stay and tried to change it via the instructions from the hotel, but never received a response. When I showed up for my 2 night stay (as per my confirmation) the hotel had changed it to the one night stay without informing me or *******. I had to find another hotel, since they were fully booked for the night. For my trouble, ******* was willing to pay for the night at another hotel, and then I was supposed to repack everything and move to the Staybridge. I informed ******* that I would not have time (nor the inclination) to change hotels after one night. They advised me to stay at the new hotel and they would work to get me a refund if Staybridge charged me for the room that I was supposed to stay in. Of course, they charged me (it was pay at the hotel, not in advance.) I called ******* and they have been working to get my refund, but have been unable to reach anyone with the power to do so. I tried calling as well and was told that I’d have to call back. I was also told by the staff that I “shouldn’t use these 3rd party booking sites because ‘things like this happen.” I think I’ll just stop staying at Staybridge Suites instead.

We had a wonderful stay! Devine at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We will most certainly be staying here again!!

When I arrive to our room it was stuffy and warm. No staff at the front desk when I arrived. Food was good.
