"Quiet room. Very pleasant view of the Napoleon III Park. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. Enjoyable small swimming pool accessible on the 7th floor from 7 am to 10 pm (partially outdoors with a swan neck fountain). Slippers, non-slip flip-flops, bathrobes, and a minibar with cold drinks and snacks are provided. Direct access from the 3rd floor to the spa (spa at an additional cost). Excellent buffet breakfast (fresh fruit, various breads, vegetables, local cheeses, Anglo-Saxon breakfast options available) which can be enjoyed outdoors overlooking the magnificent trees of the Napoleon III Garden. "We stopped for an overnight stay with breakfast at this lovely 5-star hotel on our way to our holiday destination, but a few pennies don't necessarily translate well to a star rating. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The rooms have superb panoramic views, king-size beds, and quality bedding. Each room includes a minibar and espresso machine. You're welcomed with a smile and without excessive fuss – perfect. The quality of the breakfast items is also excellent… (the extra charge for eggs is a bit steep considering the price of breakfast). However, to truly live up to its 5-star rating, a few suggestions could elevate it to a genuine luxury hotel! For starters, the toiletries: no bottled shampoo or shower gel – quite surprising and a first for a hotel in this category. Instead, there are small bars of hand soap with suggestive names! (See photo) Eco-responsibility is a convenient excuse, and so is local sourcing… Nothing mentions that this little bar of soap serves as both shampoo and shower gel… (see photo) And before you retort that these are organic products from the Auvergne region, which is true, I also checked the manufacturer's website; they offer similar products labeled as shampoo and bath soap. So why not offer them? It would be clearer for guests. Here, we really get the impression of penny-pinching and having to wash our hands with the bar of soap, unacceptable in a 5-star hotel. The shower mosaics, which are coming loose underfoot, need maintenance and inspection; it's time to replace the tiles… The same goes for breakfast in the restaurant. The white tablecloths are reserved for the "real" lunch and dinner guests of the gourmet restaurant; hotel guests at breakfast have to make do with the oilcloth that was on the tables before the white tablecloth, not very classy and not up to the standard displayed on the hotel's facade. Finally, the blinds in the room let in a lot of daylight, so in the summer it's already light at 5:30 am, if you're sensitive to early morning light… Lastly, and this is completely beyond the hotel's control, we had a water leak in our toilet around 6:00 am from the floor above. Unfortunately, this can happen, but traveling with a small dog weighing 3.5 kg, we would have appreciated a gesture, for example, not charging the €35 fee for the small dog, especially since the "dog package" in the room wasn't used. Such a gesture would have been appreciated in a hotel of this category. So, there are some points to review, which, in my opinion, justifies the 3 stars in this review and for this hotel. Not everything should be praised about the gourmet restaurant and the quality of its chef, who is also the manager of this establishment and who donates"

"This is a great place to a take a break and our stay exceeded all of our expectations. The warm hospitality of the staff made us feel welcome the moment we arrived until the time we left, each staff member we met were all very kind and helpful. The cozy accommodations allowed us to sleep in and enjoy a time of rest. The jacuzzi is a nice touch and a great way to spend time relaxing and rejuvenating all while gazing upon nature and the mountains. We were very satisfied with everything!! "We had a poor stay in June 2023. Like others we were confronted by someone inflexible about timings and pretty rude. I never did get to swim in the pool despite staying 2 days (forced to leave site 1100-1700.) To cap it all, the start of 2024 - 6 months later, I find a charge on my credit card for £350. Be warned - the owner seems to keep your card details and appears to be a crook. Stay away!"
