The hotel is definitely not a 4 star. Top range 3 star at best. The room was clean. It was advertised as a king sized bed, however putting 2 single beds together is very misleading. The Italian restaurant, the staff are nice but the service is very very slow. Took me an hour to get food. The location is ideal. The sports centre is good and spacious. The pool is good fun. The gym needs a complete modernisation program. Not enough equipment and in a very small room. The sports centre could utiltse space more effectively and have a state of the art gym in the other bigger rooms. It would be used well, however this is sadly not the case. I will return and use this hotel in the future. The price is not cheep and if your expecting Hilton quality then this is not the hotel for you.

Service at reception was great and on realising we had a lesser standard room than what was booked and paid for we were swiftly moved to a better one. Service on entering the restaurant both times was poor and we were left standing both times ignored by a few staff. Hotel is tired and needing upgraded in most bits and the disgusting cigarette ashtray on entering the back door was overflowing and not emptied during our visit, not a good look at the doorway.

My wife treated me to a three night magical experience at this resort in Aviemore, magical it was not from start to finish! No welcome pack on arrival, still no rewards email either! We were issued two VIP wristbands, that quite frankly just identified us for the mugs we are for booking this experience and paying well over the odds! The Ground button did not working the lift which requires a massive makeover. We attended the Aspect restaurant on our first night, it did not state anywhere in the contract that we were only entitled to two courses and therefore had to pay for extras, however when we attended the Giovanni's restaurant we had all three courses! Breakfast every morning was a complete disaster and un-eatable due to it being cold, even though we were in as soon as it opened! The main course on the gala evening was cold and I sent it back for both me and my wife, i could not eat it and my wife ate half. Service was good in the restaurants and the food was good also, however delays in the bars due to trying to cover too many areas at once! Also the bar at the Gala evening did not and would not provide me with Ginger Ale so I had to walk over to the bar in the Morlich to get some. Also when we used the cafe for Cake and Tea, they let us purchase the tea but had no sugar! The towels offered at the leisure centre would dry a baby! Overall a total shambles of a hotel, due to communication issues and staffing issues. I raised my concerns with both the Front of House Manager Sam Hall who simply offered the usual customer service platitudes and then I escalated it to the General Manager Michael Falla, who did not offer anything either! Before booking this resort I would get ready for disappointment and not much joy, if you get anything else then you have gained something. The entertainment was good and most of the staff do their best considering the lack of support and being asked to do too much! I am now taking legal action to get compensation for the lack of a Magical Experience as advertised. We will never give this chain any money in the future!

This hotel is shut and the first we knew about was when we tried the front door and it was locked. Went to highland hotel and found out we had been moved to this hotel. Some of the other hotels looked shut too, but they are still selling spaces in the shut hotels. Aspects was the only restaurant open. With some many buildings closed and no sign of any work being done on them, I think they are struggling. We also found the whole site is cold and doesn’t seem have much heating on. We visited the shopping centre and it was cold. Our room was cold and only had a radiator to heath up the room. Went to Aspects for dinner and it cold. Walking around the hotel and it’s cold. I appreciate it’s November and it’s not warm outside but the lack of heating is a major issue.

Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are exceptional and the attention to detail in the rooms is above and beyond that of most hotels BUT they only have one lift and it was broken. We were a bus load of 47 people and the poor young man ( John ) that had to haul our bags up to the second and third floors was to be commended. It was not in his job description. The grounds are amazing and it's a very short walk to town. Dinner at the hotel was good, trying the Haggis is a must.

Recently had a break at MacDonald Morlich Aviemore. We’ve stayed at the hotel and her sister hotel Highland many times now and never disappoints. Staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and professional. Great place to relax and enjoy food and drinks which are of great taste and choice. Thank you to all for another great stay and looking forward to returning soon

Hotel very tired in need of a full refurb. Room good size but again tired. Had to ask for table to be cleaned in bar even although they had just opened up. A hoover round would have made a difference too. Staff pleasant and restaurant (Italian) was very nice. Breakfast was plentiful but not the best quality.

A lovely setting among trees & very clean room. Has tea kettle. No wash cloths. Needs rubber mat in shower. Bed was comfortable.. Food - had a nice dinner that was as organized as possible for a crowd. Breakfast- was very good. Especially Enjoyed porridge, yogurt, fruit & eggs. was happy to see the liver type of brood coffee. It was efficient and tasty. T he birds are so wonderful I can hear them inside the room..

This place is possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We are on a tour, and we were stuck here. There is no AC and no ventilation in the rooms. The 2nd day we figure out how to fully open the window but there are no screens. Even with the window open, the room was stifling hot. Sweated sitting still. Everything in the room is dated. The carpet is old and the bathroom door was warped from water from the shower. It was 80+ F degrees outside and they had a comforter and wool blank on the bed with no bed sheet. We forgot a razor, they don't have them. Advertised a pool, it was closed. No face clothes, they haven't had them since Covid-19 for some reason. Our bus of 42 people went on a tour of the area and we returned, nobody's key worked. The person at the desk asked "did you go in any shops?" The cards are deactivated if you do for security reasons for who knows why. If you can, avoid this place.
