Baobab Tented Camp

📍 Tarangire National Park, Babati
★★★★ 9.1 (48 reviews)

"We stayed a night here. Staff were super friendly, food was plenty and quite good, accommodations were very clean, and overall a very environmentally friendly camp. It was incredible at night as you could hear the animals and we even saw an elephant walking in front of our tent! A very authentic experience and glad we stayed here."

"Excellent location in Tarangire Park and beautiful hotel. We really enjoyed our stay there. Hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was great with vegetarian options. There are monkeys, dik dik, lizards and hyrax wandering about the hotel grounds."

Elephant Lodge

Elephant Lodge

📍 Sangaiwe, Babati
★★★★★ 9.1 (6 reviews)

"The hotel is very close to Tarangire Park, where elephants come to drink water at midday. The rooms are indeed single-story tin-roofed houses (green tin houses in the distance in the picture below). The rooms are small, but the bedding and towels are very clean. WIFI is only available in the dining area; there is no signal in the rooms. No toothbrushes, slippers, electric kettle, or bottled water are provided. A cup is provided to drink from the tap (supposedly filtered). All hotel drinks are charged separately without prior notice; payment is only made after the drink is finished."

Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge

Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge

📍 Tarangire National Park Tarangire rd, Babati
★★★ 8.6 (35 reviews)

"Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge As you approach the accommodation, you will be greeted by a realistic Elephant sculpture, appropriate for a place that is as embedded in the environment as this location is. This was our first stay during our safari and was the one place with the most exotic audio night time experience - a symphony (or cacophany) of so many birds and other animals - it truly felt like a different world. The lodging was comfortable and pleasant. The bathroom had one of the largest bath-tubs I've seen in my life (but we didn't get to use it unfortunately). Nice range of options for food (breakfast and dinner). We were greeted by a group of Masai women singing and dancing for us (they did extend a basket for tips). In general, the staff were friendly and worked hard to ensure we had a nice stay. Would stay here again!"

Baobab Tented Camp ★★★★
"Fantastic spot – incredibly beautiful and clean premises with amazing service. The workers there looked genuinely happy and were so friendly. Joyce in particular worked incredibly hard and meticulous in every detail – at dinner my mom lost a battery pack case walking in the dark and the next morning she had found it and gave it back to my mom. The rooms were beautiful – they had hot showers, hot and cold drinking water, lots of charging stations, and even mosquito repellent at the ready. The mosquito nets were very helpful, and the pool was spectacular for cooling off. The food here was one of the best – there was a huge selection of delicious local foods for dinner, and for breakfast they had an omelette/egg station/fresh hashbrown station along with all the typical breakfast items. In the evening we saw elephants in the distance as well. Absolutely would recommend this place!"

"We had a pleasant stay at this lodge. The service and food was good. Our teenage kids especially liked their stay here because of after game activities liked pool table. We were unable to use their beautiful pool as it was cold, as we visited in July. Overall it’s a beautiful facility."

Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge ★★★
"Coming to Africa for the first time, I thought the experience of living in a tent might be a little difficult. But Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge changed my mind. A few minutes walk from the gate, and then enter a dream world. Tired of the day-long safari, I returned, took a relaxing bath in the hot water, then sat on the balcony and watched the sunset. The herd of elephants was moving slowly. When the Masai guard brought me to the tent at night, there were millions of stars in the sky, and only the sound of the jungle in the air. It is not just a place to stay, it is an experience that touches the heart of Africa."
