"We checked in at 2:30 PM in Room 210. Right from the start, there were issues. They asked for my ID and a 2,000 peso security deposit – that was fine. They gave us the acknowledgement receipt, room key, and other items. When we went to our room, the sink in the bathroom was disgusting; you could see a lot of phlegm inside it every time you used it. We hadn’t even been in the room for 15 minutes when a group of guests started making extremely loud noise – shouting, laughing, and roughhousing. I went out to see what was going on, and there was a group of students. Three other rooms also had guests come out, upset about the noise. I called the front desk to inform them, but nothing changed. The noise continued all evening. I called the front desk again, and they said they were trying to talk to the group but couldn’t control them. So we had no choice but to put up with the noise – people running around, shouting, laughing loudly, and chatting in the hallway. The worst part was when we checked out: my ID, which is my driver’s license, was still with them. They were only supposed to make a photocopy, but they held onto it. I drove for 3 days without my license because they had it. Look for another hotel where you can really relax."

"Okay. Let's start with the positives: Hotel Veniz is accessible, has parking, friendly staff, good amenities like a TV, WiFi (not so fast 8mbps max), air conditioning and a refrigerator. They have buffet breakfast! Negatives: Coffee cups are not thoroughly cleaned. It's advisable that you bring your own paper cups. Second, shower is too small. When we were there, the elevator frequently broke but this is okay because I'm super into fitness. Anyway I guess this is par for the course because the rates are super low for a room with buffet breakfast and a great location. Overall 3/5 for me."
Newtown Plaza Hotel
"This was my third visit to Baguio. My first and second stays were at SotoGrande Baguio, but this time I decided to try something different. For both, my main criterion was an outdoor heated pool. While the pool at SotoGrande was somewhat usable, the one at Newtown Plaza felt more like a pool meant to be looked at from the restaurant. It's not really for swimming, or at least it seems a bit difficult to use. Newtown Plaza seems to have more history and their buffet is quite popular. However, since I really want to use a pool even in cold Baguio, I might just go back to SotoGrande next time!"

"Hotel is right beside burnham park which makes it accessible. Session Road is about 15min walk away from the hotel. Staff is friendly. 24 hour front desk and spacious parking area. Free breakfast was plated, nothing special. Hotel is quite old. Overall our stay was ok. Best asset of the hotel is the location and the staff which were polite at all times."
