Cape Point Hotel
"This hotel is as well located and less expensive than its neighbors, with direct access to the beach. Bright and colorful neighborhood at the cape of this picturesque city of Bakau, where the population of the sand streets lives outside, and smiles spontaneously at strangers. A studied composition of small apartments around a swimming pool and its palm trees. In the rooms, nice wooden furniture. The water could be faster, and the wi-fi warmer, or maybe the opposite. The bathrooms are not new, but efficient. The clientele is sometimes danish , and polite. The hotel has its energy autonomy, so we are not subject to power cuts that often plunge the neighboring guest-Houses into darkness. In addition, a nice surprise, we can sleep. No dogs barking ate night. And far from the mosques, we are not woken up at dawn by calls. We feel good there, and we are welcomed with a smile. Nice housekeepers. The young receptionists are devoted, friendly and responsive, like Ara - and Amy, who found me a good taxi for 2am. They are nice, so we came back to say hello to them for fun, even we had left the hotel days before."
Ocean Bay Hotel & Resort
"A well run hotel with the full range of amenities that you would expect from a hotel of thus type. The pre stay communication was first class with any questions that I had being answered fully and helpfully. The room was well appointed and functional. Our maid, Mary, was friendly and professional. All the staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were very good with a really top class omelette maker at your service. Draft beer in the bar Is served fresh and cold. Shame the beach bar closes at 6. Evening meals were my only disappointment with my pork in the main restaurant and my fish in The Buddha being overcooked to a state of toughness. Shop opposite for water and snacks. The highlight for me was the superbly designed and maintained grounds. Monkeys, Egrets and Hornbills visited daily. Constant watering and maintenance gave the gardens a top class finish."
One World Village Guesthouse
"The staff is extremely nice and helpful with everything. Next time I would not book the single room but opt for a more luxurious type. But since the place is nice and everybody was helpful it was all well."
Tropic Gardens Hotel
"Helpful staff - provided modem after internet issues; good food, pool & games room; beach too rocky in Bakau for swimming/surfing but good for rockpooling at times (needed plastics clean-up)."
