"The room was okay, but a bit far from the lake, a 20-minute walk. I was a little scared to walk back alone after dark. I was very satisfied with the room after one night, so I extended my stay for another night through Ctrip. However, the hotel manager told me that the room was already booked and I had to change rooms. Considering it was just moving to the next room, I reluctantly agreed. The new room's balcony was half the size, which was bad enough, but the shower was broken, and the curtains didn't block out the light, waking me up early in the morning. At checkout, the manager asked for 1480 forints for city tax, accepting only cash. I gave her 5000 forints, but after leaving, I found she only gave me 3020 forints in change, 500 forints short. Was she deliberately trying to collect a tip this way? Unacceptable!"

📍 Széchenyi István u. 22, Balatonfured

"The hotel is all-inclusive, and eating and drinking are very convenient. The swimming pool is free. The room is a bit simple, but it is very cost-effective in the Lake Balaton area."

"Avoid at all costs ! Me and my partner and his little daughter, came here for two nights , three weeks ago and it was spoiled by the majority of staff there and the food . The food was like warm and zero options for children . The tables outside were covered with mould , masses of cobwebs ,spiders . The waitress was extremely rude and ignored us when we asked anything. We ended up eating out for both nights because it was that bad . The rooms were a good size, with a big balcony but we did not see a cleaner once and when we came back to our rooms , the bathroom mirror was smeared with handprints , very slippery and Damp on the floor outside the bathroom which left a bad smell . The balcony was filthy and laced with thick cobwebs and spider. We also found a few little bugs in the mattress. We did complain to reception and they gave us some house wine as a good will gesture, which was thoughtful but nothing changed on the second night . The kitchen had no management and no sight of cleaners . This hotel is a good design and looks lovely outside but it seems the management team are non existent here and the standards are very poor . I do however feel that all the reception staff were lovely and agreed that the standards within the hotel needed to improve and they did agree a few previous customers have complained of similar things . I would never give this hotel another chance it return . This was part of a family break and a mini holiday for my partners little daughters birthday ,which was completely ruined . We did raise all our issues to the reception at the end and one of the reception ladies placed my partner on the phone to some woman from the directorship management ,who wasn’t even at the premises. My partner explained everything that we had experienced at this hotel . I firmly believe with a better management team , they could really make vast improvements in this hotel, employing staff, with a “can do “ attitude, in the near future but they have a long way to go , to get to that standard. I do hope the reception team find another job in a better run hotel because the ones that we did meet was very understanding and agreed with us and must of felt embarrassed for their let down team within the hotel grounds This is an honest review and I am disappointed it wasn’t a positive outcome from our vacation here . Danubius Hotel Annabella ★★★
"The renovated rooms are quite nice, with everything you need. Cleaning is good, and everything is spotless. The location is excellent, with direct access from the hotel to the promenade. The private beach is also a plus, but sun loungers and umbrellas are available for a fee, while sunbathing on the lawn is free. The shaded areas under the trees are occupied at 8 a.m. We didn't use the pool—it smelled too much of chlorine. The hotel's main drawback is the dining room. It's incredibly crowded, so you have to wait for a seat and reserve tables. To get a decent seat, you need to arrive for breakfast before 8 a.m. and for dinner, be sure to arrive at 6 p.m. The food is monotonous, and everything is modest, but you won't go hungry. The quality of the breakfast and dinner offerings is decent; you won't starve, but skipping them isn't a big deal either—there are plenty of cafes around, including some very good ones."

"This was a lovely modern hotel, and vey clean. The wessness aspect is nice but on the small side. Restaurant and Bar was amazing, Service was tops. However the reception desk staff was not very English speaking knowledgeable. Parking lot with hotel was very safe. In a quiet neighborhood, and close walk to the Lake Balaton"

"The hotel is beautiful and has a calm vibe. Everywhere is spotless and classy. Let’s start with the great. We had a room on the third floor. The beds are super comfortable and the suite is spacious with a well stocked mini bar, there is a tv with a personalized welcome card on the screen and there is a nice terrace with soft chairs and a table. The bathroom although smallish is adequate with nice toiletries, bath robes and a rainfall shower. Generally the food is superb with a wide variety of choice. The facilities are very nice. We liked the spa and the jacuzzi. Now the not so great. Generally the quality of the food is good with the exception of not offering pancakes for breakfast although having as an empoyee a chef that makes only omelettes?! The room was kept beautifully however there seemed to be no pattern to cleaning timings. The spa area is gorgeous with lovely beds however they seem to get hosed down in the morning which makes them rather damp to lie on until they dry out. One morning, we came back from breakfast to find a note on our bed that informed us of spa area redecoration that day. It was our last day and we planned to spend the whole day in the spa area. The thing is that just the day before we went to a whole day excursion. If we knew earlier, we would have swiched our plans, but the hotel management decided to upgrade us to a suite with a small sauna. Overall staff and the hotel were lovely and we would definitely consider staying here again."

"Environment: The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Balatonfured train station and a 5-minute walk to the lake. The building is probably 200 years old and is well-maintained, although the room decor is rather old-fashioned. Cleanliness: The linens were fairly clean, but there were stains on the towels. I suggest replacing them immediately, as seeing stains on white towels is not a pleasant experience."

"Check-in must wait until after 3 o'clock. The air conditioner in the first assigned room was not working, and the maintenance staff spent nearly an hour failing to fix it. While they were repairing it, they complained to us that it was a problem with the hotel's air conditioner hardware connection, which made us very anxious. It cooled down after changing rooms in the evening, but it ruined my mood."

"German-style small hotel style and concept. When we arrived, the door was locked and no one at the front desk. Fortunately, we would contact German. Soon the front desk drove here, the attitude was okay The next morning, I seriously arranged breakfast without perfunctory because we were just two people. We left at 10 o'clock and went out for a few minutes. The front desk drove up and refunded the money and told us that we had received an extra city tax. The weather was very good."

"A good European all-inclusive hotel with clean pools, well-maintained, spacious grounds, plenty of space, and plenty of entertainment for small children (half the hotel's guests). Safety and privacy. The food isn't very varied, but it's fine for a three-star hotel. Ice cream is available on the beach all day."

"I've been sometime in Balatonfüred and now we tried this hotel, because it was renovated in the last years and they gave us a special price. The hotel has new BUT small SPA department within 2 Jacuzzi's and 1 small pool for children and sauna's. The room's size was average and it was clean. The staff was nice but the lot of young stuff were beginner! (The waiter couldn't memorize what we ordered for drinking...) The location of the hotel is not bad with 4-5 min walk you can reach the downtown. The breakfast and dinner were quite good. I can say that for this price we got what we paid for. For 3* You can get everything what You need."
