In the park you will also find the entrance to the Betty Steflik Nature Reserve with a boardwalk over the wetlands all the way to a fishing pier on the intracoastal water way. One block in the opposite direction is the beach and the start of the boardwalk that runs right through the town past the pier. There are lifeguards to watch the children in the water while mom and dad relax and work on their suntan. The kids will have a ball especially if you rent them a belly board from the local surf shop.
