Rooms are beautiful and spacious but the policy of the length of stay that we were made unaware of when we booked here was a negative and made it so my boyfriend and I were unsure if we were to stay here again. Other than that the resort was beautiful

We stayed here for six nights in early October as part of a vacation to Arizona where we saw the Arizona Cardinals-Cincinnati Bengals NFL game and also took a day trip to see the Grand Canyon/Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon. This hotel — and the staff — might have been the best we've encountered on a U.S. vacation. The pool was big and wonderfully refreshing (highs were 97-99 degrees while we were there), and plenty of towels were available at the pool every day. There was a restroom next to the pool (we've stayed at places where this isn't the case, and it's incredibly inconvenient). The hot tub and fitness center were near the pool and looked nice, but we didn't use either. Our suite was big and the balcony was nice, everything worked like it was supposed to. We only ate breakfast at Agave, the on-site restaurant, but the Huevos Rancheros was beyond amazing. Hashim was our server all 3 times we ate there, and he was terrific; friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond repeatedly with his service and kindness. Ditto Jim driving the shuttle, and Dominick working the front desk when we checked in and driving the shuttle. They offer free shuttle rides (though you should tip) anywhere within a 5-mile radius. As is custom for my wife and I, we went to a grocery store nearby when we arrived to stock up on drinks, snacks, etc. Jim helped bring the groceries up to our third-floor room, and he and Dominick offered plenty of tips and helped whenever possible. We are Marriott Bonvoy members, and that came in especially handy on this trip. In addition to using points to pay for the stay (we still had to pay sales tax & a daily resort fee), we received a daily $30 restaurant credit & free bottled water whenever we wanted it. The landscaping was solid (plenty of palm trees, which I love) and cactus plants throughout. The setting, with the McDowell Mountains to the east and TPC Scottsdale right next door, was good as well. There really isn't anywhere you can go (restaurants, shopping, etc.) within walking distance, so either rely on the shuttle, drive and pay the $20/day parking fee (we opted not to) or Uber/Lyft everywhere. The parking fee kinda stinks because the location really doesn't call for it unless TPC is hosting an event. Finally, housekeeping was really, really good (daily service, which is increasingly rare) and the rooms, furniture, and bedding were all clean and in good shape. Just an incredible experience from start to finish. When/if we have reason to visit the area again, we'll definitely stay here, and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone staying the Phoenix area for any reason.
Ideally set in an upscale neighborhood, we are within five miles from world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment. A variety of championship golf courses and other outdoor activities are within a five-minute drive. Our expansive event space includes a rooftop venue overlooking the McDowell Mountains and surrounding desert area. Enjoy our resort style pool and onsite dining.

Have just spent nearly 2 weeks in this hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were very clean with everything you would need and the pool area was also well kept and was never too busy and had pleasant background music. Thank you to Breanna the Manager for her assistance with a few minor issues we had at the beginning of our stay. The hotel restaurant The Desert Pony was excellent, we had a delicious breakfast there every morning. All the team are great! Special thanks to our server’s Naja & Alan who looked after us so well!

This is my second time at this Hotel with my family. The staff provided excellent service and were very courteous upon arrival and with any questions I had. The room was clean and large. It has been updated nicely with granite and tiled shower, and nice furnishings. As with most Embassy Suites, there is a sitting tv area with fridge, sink, microwave, and small dining table. I had a pool and mountain view, which was nice. I didn't use the pool, but families appeared to enjoy it. There's really nice sectional seating with fire pits next to the pool, which would be great when it gets cooler. I enjoyed the evening reception which was better than the 1st time. Due to covid restrictions being lifted, they provided light snacks, such as cheeses, veggies, chips, and a few dips. There is a two drink limit per person, and it's free. The morning breakfast is always a nice perk and very good. I gave this hotel four stars only because it is an older hotel, but it's still very charming. I definitely will be back again.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days at the start of our holiday. We were very pleased with the service in this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Gema, Liz and Margie who made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary while we were there and the staff secretly put Prosecco, chocolate coated strawberries and a congratulations card in our room. We were very touched by this kind gesture. Our suite was very nice. The food in the restaurant/bar was excellent. A nice surprise was the outdoor pool area which was spacious and well maintained. All in all we would recommend this hotel. Thank you Scottsdale Old Town Marriott. From Dr Steve and Sue Lloyd ( Wales, UK)

I loved everything about this hotel! It was clean, well maintained and safe. (Safety is big for me traveling alone). I watched the sunrise at one end and set at the other each day over the mountain ranges. I LOVED the adults only hottub. The rooms were incredibly spacious with many windows. The front desk staff were ALL so friendly and helpful. Tim from maintenance was so friendly in passing. I enjoyed the company in the hottub and fire pit. I love the reasonably priced little store on the property. The other guests were very pleasant. I will be back for sure.

Outstanding
A colleague and I popped over from the Courtyard property that is adjacent. We had dinner and drinks. Terrific food, and even better service. Alan was top notch on service and suggestions on what to get. Will definitely be back!! If you’re considering this property it’s a great choice, and be sure to go see Alan for great food, drinks, and service!
The iconic resort is perfectly located, within a 10 minute walk to Old Scottsdale shops and restaurants. The property is vast and well maintained. The recently updated rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well stocked. The pool grounds are fantastic and well staffed, offering bar, food service and ice water accessible to all guests. A relaxing massage made the stay extra special. The staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive to guests. Maegan at the front desk was super sweet, helpful and made sure that all of our requests were taken care of. Overall this was a perfect 4 day getaway.
GGuest UserCooperation and attitude of staff Storms closed the pools for the day. Totally get that. Out of there hands. But we asked for a 2 hr extension to our checkout to enjoy the pool for a few hours since it was the main reason of our stay here, and you would think I was asking for a free weeks stay with the attitude the “gentleman” at the front desk had. He was extremely rude and condescending. We got our time at the pool, not that the staff at the pool noticed Never were waited on once in 2 hrs, but the young girls couple chairs over were visited numerous times with ice cold water and other drinks When we had enough we tried to get back into the hotel, only to find out our key wouldn’t work. Walked around to find a door that didn’t require one went to our room to find it didn’t work there either. I went to the lobby desk to inform them we couldn’t get in our room and clerk responded with its past your checkout time. I told her I called down around 10, was transferred to to the front desk where a man answered and eventually granted an extended checkout. Clerk claimed there was no record of it and basically without saying it, called me a liar We were so impressed with this resort when we first arrived and had a wonderful meal at the Orange Sky restaurant and even talked about making this our place to for special occasions since we are new to the Phoenix area. It went downhill from there, and rapidly We won’t return. The last impression is a LASTING impression
GGuest User*** Updating my former review of 1 star and changing it to a 3* overall review. My pre-vacation experience was a terrible terrible nightmare, worthy of zero stars. We were canceled on the week before our trip with zero warning or notice. I found out the hard way...we were left without a reservation and no communication of such changes. As someone wigh considerable travel and business management experience and one who hates to complain about trivial things I have to say the way this company operates in different segments (marketing, promotions, guest services, reservations, concierge, front desk management, and travel club etc) nobody knows what the next department does or has authority to do. There is WAY too much transferring, lost colls, horrific lack of communication between departments, the list could go on. They hire an outside ”marketing” department that frequently lies to prospective guests and once on property, management deflects blame to them for discrepancies. Happened to me, happened to woman at front desk while I was waiting. You hired a marketing company, if you disagree with their slimy techniques, say something, do something, fire them. Deflecting is not an answer. Guests deserve better treatment. Period. THAT SAID, our experience prior to arrival and during our stay was complete opposite. This resort is quite lovely. My family had a really terrific stay. The villas are absolutely gorgeous. We were upgraded to a 2 bed signature at check-in. Process took 5 min most. Resort is small enough to walk quickly everywhere. So very family friendly. Kids had a blast. Pools were not over crowded. Management was kind and considerate. Gave us extra pool towels and bottled water, opened the market for us after hours. No hassell with wristbands or ridiculous rules. Could eat and drink at the table by the pool. The best part was no rule nazis. It was a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Bartenders made some great White Russians 👌 Stay itself was a 5*, but giving this 3* overall for experience leading up to trip.
A Wonderful Stay at Best Western Plus Sundial – Perfect for Families and Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus Sundial in Scottsdale, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. We brought the whole family along for this trip, so we needed multiple rooms, and from the moment we arrived, everything was just flawless. The staff made sure that all of our rooms were close together and perfectly set up, which made things so much easier for us. It’s clear that they really care about their guests and pay attention to every detail. The hotel itself is beautiful. The grounds and buildings were absolutely spotless — I don’t think I saw a single thing out of place the entire time we were there. You can tell they put a lot of work into maintaining it. The lobby and lounge area were so welcoming and well-appointed, it was like a little oasis every time we came back from exploring Scottsdale. My family and I loved just hanging out there and unwinding — it was so cozy and comfortable. And the pool area? Fabulous! We spent so much time there. It’s not only sparkling clean, but the perfect spot to relax after a day in the Arizona heat. The pool area is well-maintained and has plenty of comfortable seating, which made it ideal for both lounging and letting the kids splash around. Our rooms were perfect too. The housekeeping staff did an outstanding job every single day. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere where the rooms were kept so consistently clean and well-stocked. They were also incredibly accommodating — anything we needed was handled quickly and with a smile. Having multiple rooms could’ve been a challenge, but they made it so seamless for us. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the breakfast. It was phenomenal! The variety was impressive — everything from delicious eggs, sausage, and potatoes to freshly toasted bagels with cream cheese, and even these homemade breakfast burritos that were to die for. Every morning, we were all excited to head down and eat. It was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. We were also blown away by the front desk service, especially from Shiv. He greeted us with the warmest smile every time we came back at the end of the day. Not only did he remember our names, but he also knew our room numbers, which made us feel so welcome. That personal touch really added to the experience and made us feel like more than just guests passing through. But what really makes this place special is the owners. You could tell they were on-site constantly, making sure everything was running perfectly. Their attention to detail is just amazing — from how immaculate the hotel was, to the personal care they took in ensuring every guest was happy. They were always around, checking in, and you could feel how much pride they take in their hotel. It wasn’t just about keeping the place running smoothly, they truly cared about creating a great experience for ever
SSeaside05356751565The Scott is beautifully designed with a chic, tropical vibe that makes for the perfect getaway. It was an ideal spot for a relaxing girls’ weekend! A highlight of our stay was the amazing spa experience. I had the best facial and the spa itself was beautiful. The resort was also an easy walk to Old Town Scottsdale and nearby shopping. We walked into town and adventurously took a Waygo home - a very futuristic driverless car experience! While the food was delicious, the service at the restaurant and Cabana Club could use some improvement. We found ourselves waiting quite a long time for our orders. The Club may have been short staffed as we had to put in our own drink orders at the bar as servers didn’t come around, and glasses were left unattended around the fire pit area, which detracted a bit from the ambiance. All in all, though, the inspiring design, relaxing atmosphere, and incredible spa made it a wonderful stay.
TTanya HThe breakfast was so fresh and delicious! The scrambled eggs were wonderful (not from a powdered mix) and there was yummy homemade coffee cake. The staff working the breakfast room were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. What a great start to the day! We were VERY impressed.
GGuest UserOur stay was very pleasant. Family vacation for seven days. The staff were friendly, and helpful with information regarding the area. Room was clean and additional supplies and cleaning service provided when requested.
Would have preferred variety in breakfast selection. Breakfast was not bad. There was fruit some days and some days not. The entire seven days we stayed they offered bacon only on one day. It would have been nice to offer half bacon and half sausage as daily options. Grateful for hot breakfast none the less.
Workout room was enjoyable. Overall good stay.
HORRIBLE PLACE, even worse staff. Working in a hotel should be for people who are friendly and kind, that extends to the people they work with. I stayed here, and while I was walking one evening outside my room I noticed a housekeeping worker sitting alone past midnight on a small little golf cart. She was distressed and almost crying, when I asked what was wrong she said she had left her car key locked in the workers office and the staff and security guard refused to help her, she had no money for an Uber no family to come get her. She said she’s a mother has small kids, and all I could think of is what kind of establishment treats people like that? Or is it just housekeeping workers get treated that way? The front desk staff was rude and condescending, like you’re bothering them by asking them questions. They think being a front desk receptionist means they get to be rude to everyone else and pretentious. If this is the way this establishment treats its workers then it’s a very good reflection of how they run it and I will not ever be staying here again, I will not recommend it and I hope they get some kind of lawsuit for treating their workers like scum.
